Apparently according to my friend they are sending people to mars to make a space colony. It takes about 6 months to get to mars while it takes 2 days to fly to the moon. Apparently there is a website for it I think it is a scam. He said they are looking for recruits. I do not think it is a reasonably funded project. I do not think they have enough money to do this. Apparently according to him this is what Nasa is doing. However he believes in anything he sees on the internet. He says if it is on the internet or on a website it must be true! Is it normal I do not believe him?

:O
He, is more than likely trying to get you to believe something that makes no sense just so he can laugh at you in the end. I'm sure he does not even believe it himself.
Can give me the link? If by ant chance this is real, I want to sign up. :}
I want the link for the Mars program. Do you have it?
No link and it kind of suggests you might be the liar...
I dunno, its years off anyway. It'd be awesome if they do though.
What I suspect will happen is that "space elevators" will become realistic (especially with the discovery of graphene) and a trip to Mars will involve the building of a space station in orbit around it.
Maybe your friend has read about preparatory work for a Mars mission (and recruitment for the psychological study) and thinks that this means a manned mission is imminent. It doesn't mean that, and it isn't imminent.
The funding for a mission isn't available. There will be no manned Mars mission until 2035 at the earliest (and more likely it'll be in the 2050's or 2060's). That is NASA's own prediction.
