Have your iron levels checked! People with low iron (anemia) frequently chew on paper and ice. It's easy to fix... vitamins, iron supplements, and eating foods high in iron. :)

Yup, normal, as long as you don't actually swallow the paper because it's bad for your health. It's probably the way you deal with stress, just like some people shake their leg up and down or bite their nails.
And going a little off topic here, after I rated this, I clicked next and the following question came up:
I had sex with my Mom when she was asleep. IIN?
It has 48% normal ratings, but chewing on paper has 44 %. Seriously?!?!?!
So, coming home and fucking my mom while she is sleeping is more normal than coming home, ripping a piece of paper out of my notebook , chewing on it and spitting it out.
This is one fucked up world we live in, and trust me, you are very normal by today's standards.
