And TV shows and books and stuff too.

If bad things happen to human or alien characters I don't give a crap, but if they happen to robots it makes me really sad and sometimes I even cry.

It's because you're really a robot. Your parents are alien scientists who are trying to create the perfect human robot. WHAT NOW!?

thats a tad bit weird. if im watching a movie i will start to cry over a certain species of animal opposed to others. like in a movie if a poor like abused dog dies, that sad. if a selfish stupid person dies... i dont give a crap.
just depends on what your preferences are because of your feelings

I have a soft spot for robots too, I have no idea why. Most of them are pretty cute. You should see me every time I watch Wall-E, I get all emotional. Him watching that musical, entranced by the hand holding, holding his own hand and then trying to hold Eve's--Omg, I practically cry every time. Maybe it's the fact that every creature (human, animal, mechanical) has some sort of inherent need to make a connection with someone or something else. Robots are always assumed to not need that and yet in movies and literature, it's usually a wrong assumption.

wall-e is the shit! I felt bad too whenever it showed the little guy in peril. Eva was a slut:/

I am also very emotional when it comes to robots. Have you ever seen the movie AI- Artificial Intelligence? It's about a little robot boy who is programmed to love his 'mom' unconditionally. I watched it with my boyfriend and I was in tears almost the whole time.

It makes me so sad because in movies or books, the humans always assume that because robots were created by man, they have no spirit or feelings. But the robot almost always portrays some sort of emotional awareness. People think they can treat the robots any way they want because they are just 'monsters trying to take over the human race...' but it usually turns out that the robots are more humane than the humans.

I know what you mean. I grew really attached to the little drones in "silent running". Was sad when one of them died.

On second thought, maybe you shouldn't watch The Iron Giant. What you feel for them is sympathy but you have to realise that they can't feel anything.

okay first of movies are dam movies there are no emotionally aware pure mineral robots. when we use biogenetic material its way more advanced and it is possible for it to be emotionally aware. usually these movie robots represent something bigger and thats what ur crying about. it usuallys about overcoming the prejudices and basic programming u start with to become something more. then all that progress is lost via 7.82 mm steel tip hollow point
