It just annoys me. It is so pretentious. And it trends crap, and it's not even that great of stuff. And it sucks people in. I'll be watching youtube and someone says they love something of pop culture and it really turns me off.

Not normal. You are a unique and special snowflake.

I don't think you have any idea what pretentious means.

This was my only thought when reading the question.

That is all.

You and most of the other people that I know that think their disgust with pop culture is somehow unique.

I'd say it's normal. But considering it's "popular" culture, I guess you're in the minority.

Hmmm, not entirley sure that pop culture is 'pretentious'( srry for spelling, using the ipod app) per se, but i agree with a general dissatisfaction with pop culture. I say normal

Yes of course it's normal.

In fact it's actually quite hard to find people who love and indulge primarily in the most mainstream and pop of culture these days, which makes me ponder why it is indeed considered mainstream and pop? Who are these consumers throwing their money at the hungry fat dog that is the mainstream media industry desperate for some of this manufactured sludge?

But hey, I find that there is an equal amount of pretentious crap aiming to be popular 'counter' culture. All this beige folk-indie revival and 'vintage' retro kitsch bollocks with its feet dug firmly into my generation's audial and visual identity makes me wanna vom. Can't wait for the next Punk.

It is that normal, that it is not unique anymore.
