I came up with an idea a while back to create an application of sorts, similar to a job application, for doctors and dentists to fill out so that I know their credentials, their limitations and things such as their personal beliefs towards certain types of procedures and medications.
People forget, doctors work for YOU. Most people feel 'beneath' a doctor when seeing him, and it should be exactly the opposite. YOU are paying HIM, he works for YOU!! He needs to be reminded of that too, as most doctors take advantage of the fact that people feel beneath them.
My (ex)dentist sucks. I didn't know this at first (how can you know most of the time??) so I felt kind of stuck with him as I had just moved at the time and he was the first dentist I could get in to see. Turns out he has NO compassion, he's rough, he's a jerk and he charges out the ass for his services. I went there for an emergency recently and he was going to charge me $125 just to LOOK with his EYES to confirm the problem and give me some antibiotics and painkllers (that's all I was asking for at the moment), and the actual work (pulling a tooth, simple, non-surgical) would be an additional $475, which I had to make an appointment for. Mind you this was a future appointment, not a Saturday emergency call for the $475. With my other dentist, pulling my other wisdom teeth was $90 and that included the nitrous oxide!! Anyway, I had words with them in the waiting room, I made sure the other people there heard it, and I basically told them how cruel that was, and how they were gouging patients in a time of need. It was all about $$, they didn't care that I had been a paying patient for all this time and was in severe pain. I told them I'd never come back there, and slammed the door when I left.
A looong time ago, I had to go to the ER because I had fell badly and I knew my shoulder was dislocated and I thought my collarbone was broken. My worst nightmare, I get a bitch female doctor. I fucking HATE female doctors. This BITCH made me go into the restroom by myself when I can't even move my left arm at all and am in agony, and has me take a drug test!! For no fucking reason other than to be a bitch. It was insulting and just wrong. After she gets the clean drug test back she starts implying that someone hit me or pushed me and I'm not admitting it. I was just like...what??...can't you just look at the x-ray and tell me what's wrong and put my shoulder back in please?? She was trying to be some sort of CSI hero or something, trying to make the situation into something it wasn't. All said and done, I left there with my shoulder still out because she said I had fractured my collarbone and she didn't want to risk popping it back in. What a cunt, I don't know if she was having a bad day or was on her period or what but that's no way to treat someone in that state of affairs.
