Is it normal to feel bewildered when a friend isn't single anymore?

Be it a girl or guy, i've always felt a little sad whenever i recently found out a friend of mine just got into a relationship.

i had two friends who got into a relationship with each other which i think is mighty fine and i support it; but there's a little pang of hurt and bewilderment.

i am positive it isn't jealousy or anything like that since i don't want a significant other. let's just say i'm not enthusiastic about boyfriend/girlfriend relationships. i know it's unfair of me to feel this way about my friends and i'm not one to be all preachy about how being single is best; could it be that i felt like my friends were traitors or something? i dont know. :(

Is It Normal?

Maybe you just feel like you won't be able to spend as much time with them once they obtain a significant other. I know I've felt like that before, and my friends have also felt it when I would get into relationships. But you really shouldn't worry about it, unless every moment of your friend's time is devoted to being with his/her girlfriend/boyfriend.

I'm assuming you're a girl. Girls are pretty territorial about their friends. It sounds to me like it has little to do with their being in a romantic relationship, and more to do with you feeling you are on the outside watching them delve deeper into a relationship, without you.

I think its normal for you to feel hurt, confused, and a little alone.
