When I dream I can smell, taste, and even feel pain. This is so extreme to the point I re-lived breaking my ankel and cutting off my thumb. And I'm pretty sure I now know what it feels like to be stabbed and shot. It's really scary and painful and sometimes I don't wake up. When I smell things in my dreams it's usually stinky. I'm thinking that might be triggered by skunks in the neighborhood or nighttime flatulance (as my husband laughs). I can remember almost everything I dream about too...it's weird. Do you ever feel pain or smell in your dreams?

That isn't normal, nope.
Sounds like you've almost mastered lucid dreaming...without any practice. Many people would be envious of that. I suggest you read about it, maybe you can learn to control your dreams better. Then you could do whatever you want in them, instead of fe. getting shot.

i have never felt pain or smelled anything in any of my dreams but i was sleeping real good a few times and woke up because it felt like someone stabbed me in the leg and this happened about 3 times it felt like someone took a knife and twisted it right into my leg but the strange thing about it is nobody was in my room

I've experienced that same thing! Right in my thigh! I was wondering if it was a leg cramp amplified by a crazy dream.

Yeah it seems to happen often. I read report of someone who had a heart attack in sleep. Makes you wonder how people die when they are asleep right?
