Is it normal to feel that you are the only introvert around ?

Um hello there, welcome to the internet where 90% of us are introverts.

Yes it is normal.

People tend to think that others are the cool ones, the popular ones, the center of the pack. If you really do research to find out who all these inside track people are, you will find out that they don't know that they are, and that they are just as insecure as you are. Trust me.

I wish I had sites like this to see when I was young. It is so easy to see things for what they are when you get experience under your belt.

Best advice: No one is anymore social than you are, don't let anyone intimidate you in social atmospheres. Everyday is the first day of school out there.

However, it is very important to network and meet people in order to accomplish things and get what you want. Many people on this site think they are the only ones who want to lay in bed all day, do what they want and not have to face others. That is great if you are independently wealthy. Enjoy. For those that aren't get out there and make things happen. No one is going to come and "discover" you.

Sometimes I say to myself, what the hell do I have to lose? I should just be myself and some people will like me and some will be offended by everything I say and do. That is the way it is.

Of course you feel like the only one, because all of the other introverts are not exactly making their presence known! You notice all the extroverts because they are the center of attention.

There's a difference between shyness and being an introvert btw. But I think a lot of people here can understand:)

You're fine. We all have our own personalities.

Same here. Most of the people I know are extroverts. They're outgoing and are extremely social, but then there's me being shy and quite in the corner. It's normal, we all have different personalities. Maybe, you be better off if you engaged with one person at a time? I do allot better that way, but if it's more then two I have a much harder time "adapting".

tough luck but being introverted not always mean that ur shy and that its bad,it just means that u dont need as much activities as outies since we r more cautios of happy hormones than outies that cant have enough of em,also we need need to recharge our batteries after some activities, youre not shy for not choosing to sozialise when u can! more bout that from Marti Laney, Psy.D.

I totally get you, I feel like everyone around me can't keep their mouths shut, I cringe at them and the way they behave.

Be proud to be an introvert, we're a minority, and are much more independent.

You think that's bad?
I went to a party yesterday with ONLY introverts. Everyone only spoke to the people that they came with and no-one bothered to chat to people from other social circles.
It really sucked. I'm sure it can't be that bad being a shy person among a bunch of extroverts.
