Is it normal to get anxiety for no reason? I'll just have anxiety out of nowhere for no apparent reason. Any thoughts about why?

I'm almost always anxious. It's my regular state of mind. Like everyone else has said you could be having panic attacks. Focus on your breathing and stay calm if you ever feel it coming on.

Your body has become conditioned at some point to react in a "flight" way (fight or flight instinct), but all of the time. See if you can retrain your brain to stop giving you the signal to be afraid. It will take a while though, stuff like this is not instant. Basically, you have to convince yourself that you are safe and sound no matter what your current situation is. You may also want to speak to your physician as they can prescribe you some medication (if they feel it is warranted). Basically, the meds keep your body calm while you sort out your anxious thoughts and learn to deal with them in a constructive manner. Then once you've mastered the thought processes, you can ween yourself off the meds. This could take years though. It's best to talk to a professional psychologist and your doctor though. I don't think anyone here is a professional.

You could be having a panic attack.

I believe anxiety has its roots. Can you still recall the first trigger of your anxiety and the current factor (e.g. relationship/family issues) that affected you tremendously when you arrived on that state?

Yeah, it's called anxiety.

Depends on how often you're having it. If it's frequent or if you feel like it's getting in the way of your life, see a doctor.

I used to have anxiety out of nowhere really regularly. I'm on medication that helps massively now. I know that not everybody is comfortable with being on medication for things like this, and that's ok. Talking to a psychiatrist or therapist can still be really helpful so that you can work out coping techniques.

In the meantime, do you consume caffeine regularly? Caffeine and other stimulants can make anxiety way worse. Some people (myself included) also have anxiety (or worse anxiety) the day after drinking. It's a big part of hangovers for me.

I hope that helps! Good luck.

I feel amazing the day after drinking. XD It's the only time I ever feel happy getting out of bed in the morning. 0.o

I'm not the OP, but thanks for that tip about the hangovers. Now I know what was wrong with me today!

You're welcome! It took me a while to realise that was part of what was going on with me.

Keep track of your panic attacks, either in your head or on paper if you don't think you'll be able to keep it all in order. Every time you have one, take a minute and try to figure out what the trigger is.

You could have multiple triggers that are causing the anxiety. If you can't find a solid trigger, it's probably panic attacks which happen randomly.

I get a rush of adreneline or something trough my legs and chest. It won't go away until I stand up and walk around.

Yep, normal. I'd give a longer explanation, but there's really nothing else to say.
