Is it normal to meditate almost all day long?

I love to dive deep into my thoughts and imagine all different kinds of scenarios about people around me. For example, I dream of me going to school one day, and then find everyone taken hostage by a gang. Then I fight my way in or something. This is kind of unrealistic, but I do daydream about realistic things too. For example, tomorrow school starts and teacher come up to me and said "blah blah blah", then I would respond "blah blah", and teacher would look at me differently because I said something of high wisdom. I just want to know whether if it is worth the time to do so. I mean if these realistic scenarios comes real some day, it would be real useful for I have had the experience in my brain already.
