If you're an old user, you'll know what I'm talking about. Before of having those two grey boxes up there in your top right corner, we had a little white box that said 0:Notices. Whenever you had a number of notices (higher than 0) the number would turn red and start blinking. I miss the old notices sign. In my opinion, it looked better. It matched more with the site in the contrary of those two grey things.

EDIT: Oooh, I DO remember it now! Silly me, and yes, I liked it a lot. Not that I really dislike this way, and I think it works well for the space it allows the messages notification box :P

I had a suggestion for the private messages box that I sent in one time, but it never got implemented. The idea was to have some kind of hyperlink that would take you directly to the private messages page instead of having to wait for all of your recent conversations with users to load in the little box up at the top, and then clicking on one, and then getting taken to the page you need to get to. That suggestion is kind of null now though, since the private messages loading delay issue that was going on a while back has been taken care of.
