I am starting to beleive that maybe i might be emotionally retarded or something of that sort. For instance, if someone does something to me like the frequent case of my sister being unnecessarily vile to me for no apparent reason or one of my friends would push me to far by means of hitting my anger would flare up as it "normally" should. But not even a minute or to later, no matter what the case the fire would quicckly and drastically die out. No matter if i even want to hold on to the anger, it slips away wven as it builds up. This isn't really a bad thing, to be honest i have gotten through a lot by this means of keeping a cool head. But I want to know.....is that really normal?
This causes an imbalance, which the brain releases yet other neuro-chemicals to bring you back to normal.
People who have brains that do not do this efficiently enough develop bi-polar disorder, and swing back and forth between extremes of mania and depression.
It looks like you lucked out, and your brain gets back into balance extraordinarily quickly. You probably have good genetics.
Hooray for you!
Either you've been reared in a house full of women, or you've been watching too much TV or something not to know this.
"Flare up and forget it" is exactly the pattern for every normal, well balanced man I've ever worked with. Think about the consequences if it weren't so:
Either you'd have to keep all your emotions bottled up forever until they kill you, or every careless minor error would invoke the death penalty.
Do you keep your anger repressed? Or any of your other emotions for that matter?
I do think that life is too short to hold a grudge and be a hateful person, but I am curious, do you find yourself being walked over because you don't act on your anger? In a healthy, mature way of course.
