Is it normal to want to take photos (be a photographer) but not like taking the actual photos when people are around?

I love taking landscape and nature photos and have a web site to show of my amateur shots but I can't bring myself to take photos while people are around and if I really want to take a photo while people are around I ether wait till no one is looking and try sneak a snap shot or I grin and bear it and not take any photo at all. I can for some reason take photos of people. Is this normal?

Absolutely, I'm in the same situation as well. And anyone who knows me knows that they have to "pay" me to take "my" picture.

Me too but rather different I don't like people to take pictures from me coz I think they may make fun of me later!
