Is it normal to truly believe i have cyclothymia, or bipolar disorder, but not want to ask my doctor or anyone because they might laugh at me?? I have major mood swings whether i'm overly depressed full of suicidal thoughts or like crazy almost like i'm on crack or something. overly hyper even when i haven't slept???????????//

I think you really need to ask a doctor. I can't imagine any doctor would laugh at you for this. For one, it's not a laughing matter. I hope you get the help you want.

For all of the retards out there, the above comment was obviously a response to another comment by someone named "The_White_Spirit" that consisted solely of the infamous "naw cuh", before it was mysteriously erased. But thanks for the thumbs down.

Don't be dumb. Why would a doctor laugh at that? How is it at all funny? Just ask a doc.

Go ahead and ask. If your suspicions are true, you will get the help you need to feel A LOT better.

Best Wishes!!!

I think it's normal to be a hypochondriac.

No need to be worried that you're doctor will laugh at you. My guess is that he will more than likely just dismiss it though. Mental illness diagnostics aren't all that easy to come by; there's no blood test for that.

I think, the only approach that may work is to see a psychologist, and get the diagnostic done that way. Dunno what approach you can take to see a psychologist but I think that would be your best bet to start getting treatment as soon as possible. I may be wrong though.

I would hope that a professional wouldn't laugh at your concerns.

She might laugh or think you're crazy but she won't say anything to your face. I'm kidding. Trust me, family docs see and here every kind of ailment, condition, concern, "bump on this," "pain down here" type of scenario you can imagine. just talk to her about your worries. that's what she's there for!

Yeah I was the same as you, I didn't speak to anyone on the end, I just learnt to deal with whatever it is on my own.
