Is it normal to remember being in the womb?

I recall suddenly being aware, over time hearing my mother singing to me and my father as well although it was more abrupt and less soothing than my mother, who's voice was more internal to me. I recall it being a calm state of suspension and much sleeping... I enjoyed sleeping a lot. Is this normal?

Actually, memory develops in the third trimester of pregnancy, though it's rare for an individual to recall anything.
I for one remember music my mother used to play for me when I was in the womb, not much else though.

Right, it's only a few memories... I don't recall full weeks/months. I distinctly remember suddenly being aware though, the moment of my "consciousness" if you will. I've always had a very heightened sense of awareness though. I recall several memories from when I was an infant and extremely well memories as a toddler/child as if it was yesterday, I remember breast feeding also... I much preferred it to bottles! That isn't as disturbing as it sounds because I recall how I felt about it at the time, not seeing how you might see it now as a grown person. I'm sure those are much more common though.

I also can't remember what I had for dinner last night but I can remember the taste of SuperMan ice cream I ate as a little kid some 25 years ago, memory works in interesting ways sometimes.

I remember very little from my childhood but there are a bunch of very insignificant memories that come back to me from time to time. It's definitely interesting how the brain works.

I can tell myself a number 50 times while working and forget it when I finally need it. It drives me absolutely insane because I work in a kitchen so the math I need to remember is the difference between wasting a ton of food, and getting the recipe right.

And I remember beating everyone in the race to the egg, it was epic. Good thing I had NOS.

I actually remember my own birth. I'm not joking like some of the other people who commented. No I REALLY remember being born. Those were degrading times. I remember things being incredibly cold and bright....it's amazing really

I believe you. I remember I loved looking up at ceiling fans as I drank from my bottle as a baby. Things seem so much more magical as an infant. :P

Well obviously you didn't, but I did. I also remember being circumcised as a baby while most men don't remember that either.

lol, no, this was while I was in the womb, likely a month or so before birth, I can't really put a time on it though.

I dont see how you could look back that far in your life unless you have super human memory. Maybe your dreaming about what it would be like to be in the womb.

No they are very much real recollections, I also have infant memories I talked to my parents about and they couldn't believe I remembered them but I did. I don't think I am super intelligent or anything, I think some people just have a heightened sense of awareness.

Yes way. Why after almost 2 years would I come back to this and still recall memories I had in the womb just to answer your comment of doubt? No person trolling would do that.

I'm not kidding. Go ask your psio teacher. ITS IMPOSSIBLE.

It's sad that you can't recall an experience in perfect clear recollection and be able to know exactly what it was like being in the womb and hearing your mother sing to you, you would have a much closer relationship with your mother likely and not be so negative towards people that simply experienced something that you also may have experienced by obviously don't recall. I've talked to many people who share similar experiences, it is extremely rare to remember them, but it does happen.

There are often children that when you ask, "what was it like being in mommy before you were born?" They will often answer in exact detail what it is like... but a year or so later, asking the same question, often they don't recall the memory any longer, it is a memory that fades easily as there are no visuals, only feelings, sound, etc... It's a sensory experience more than a visual memory we often associate with memories.
