If a baby naps throughout the day it will naturally keep waking up at night and disturbing the parents sleep. I was wondering if it's acceptable to use a spray bottle during the day so that everytime the baby starts to drift off to sleep you can spray it's face to keep it awake. That way the baby will be so tired by evening it will sleep without waking all through the night.
Is this normal or does it count as cruelty?

It is a baby not a pet.
I know you've only posted this story for the reaction it gets.
WITH ACID!
i think you need to be fixed. just sayin.
Don't spray the baby in the face.
My son rarely slept day or night. I went to the doctor and asked for something to help him sleep. He said he wasn't in the business of drugging babies to make them sleep. So, I asked if he could give me some drugs to help me sleep through the crying :o( No!!
Anyone who cannot go at least 24 hours without sleep should NEVER even consider having a baby. It wouldn't be the first case where a parent shook a child in frustration and shouted 'Shut up!' into its face. However, during the process they snap the baby's neck and kill it :o(
Whatever it takes to shut it the hell up. Besides we all end up growing up with issues, so I say it's alright. but. mind ya - some people in child services might think it's cruelty.
A minute of silence please.
and now - any time you see my nickname, divide what i said by a good measure of sarcasm and black humour.
