Last night my sister spent two full hours talking to our family dog in her room. She said that she really enjoyed it and that every once and a while that Shadow (dog) would scoot closer and lick her hand in a concerned way. I always knew that we left her alone too much in our house but has she gone off the deep end?
As humans, we take dogs as pets and treat them as a member of our families. Why shouldn't she take it one step further? POWER to her I say.
You guys might be just looking into it too much. I talk to my kitty Tiger if I had a really stressing day, only because he responds to my voice, gets all happy & purrs abunch while cuddling with me. I mean, two hours is a bit much, but maybe she wasn't talking the whole time, maybe it was on & off while just petting him & such.
First off it is not abnormal to talk to your pets.
i personally lead a very fulfilling life and im not lonely in the least. I speak with my dog for hours on end as a way to bond with her.
not to mention it very therapeutic to her and myself. she relaxes listening to my voice (and normally falls asleep..lol) and i get to talk to someone whose non judgmental. Some one who will listen to me and not say well my day was tougher ... blah blah blah...
so on a whole no its NOT weird ti talk to your pet .
