Is it normal to thank the microwave and washing machine

Hi im a 34 year old male..But I always say thanks to the microwave say when it defrosts something for me or my washing machine when it washes my clothes..I feel technology is alive for some reason and needs to be respected... bare in mind ive had my washing machine for nearly 8 years with out any problems when my friends have going true 4 washing machines and when /I see the way their washing machines are kept im wondering am I right in respecting my Technology.My nanny was like this she had the same Philips washing machine that she bought in the 80s up until she died in 2002 and its still going today..I use avast anti virus even when it updates I thank the pc.. I feel if you love and respect your tecnolegy it will work perfectly for you, am I the only one whos like this..
