You actually just made me notice that I am doing that. Good sign for people, it means that I am starting to be less myself and more someone they would like to be around, and I only do that when I lack respect to the enviroment I'm in to express my true opinion.
F**k! We lost another one! Please, don't do this? :( I like the 'ItDuz' I met when I first got here. Surely your identity is bigger than a website and what people think, right? Maybe you just need to take a break for a while? :}
I don't know. I would be lying if I said I wasn't addicted to this site, but if I decided to not come on this site, my pride would make me stick to my word so that addiction to the site doesn't have any hold over me.
Unfortunatly people just don't seem to see my line on reasoning, and when my line of reasoning is pretty much obvious and can't be shown wrong (obviously not all the time I'm right, but when it's faurly obvious I am), people just avoid the topic and think not answering, yet insulting is a good form of contributing to the conversation.
My identity isn't really shared with most due to me being far less on the emotional side than most, in which I don't think people would be able to handle or accept who I actually am, so I usually just pretend to be a nice, fun person, and most of the time it isn't forced, it's quite like a social reflex. It usually happens and I don't really notice it until it is full on different from the way I usually am, but now that I've noticed, I'll try to be myself more than the social reflex me.
Personally, it isn't how they view me, it's how I view them. You have known me for quite some time, you know how much I will engage in debates, but for some time now I am litrally not wanting to have any part of it, and sometimes I'll barely read the notifications I get, I ushed to look at them all.
I think this site is unable to realize that just because something is offensive, doesn't make it incapable of being true. Perhaps I do need a break from the site, but I think it would be a break until people realize this rather than just a break until I "Pull myself together".
I have made stories after stories, and people will say that I am completely wrong for thinking something, that I am this and that for thinking such things, yet when I make other stories that doesn't involve something that won't offend people, yet is the exact same situation, just with a different target, they seem to have the complete different opinion, they will say that I am right...
Then there is when people go blindly against proven facts...I think a line was drawn when a specific user on here tried to deny a definition from an actual dicitonary was what a word meant...I asked and asked, ok, then "you" send me a link that shows your point, show me wrong, I am interested in knowing if I'm wrong...There response was "I am not your teacher" simply die to the fact they were wrong and couldn't accept it. The whole point of debate is to give information that is reliable, and if it reliablility is in doubt, give a reliable source of information that shows it to be right...To this person, it was just something oblivious to her. It went so far along that "I" was trying to look up information that she thought was fact that would prove me wrong. I was argung against her points, and looking for her points to use against me aswell, because she couldn't understand what a dbeate is. Regardless, she couldn't accept she was wrong, she couldn't find any information that proved her right, (she tried to quote something she thought would help her, just proved my point even more). They kept saying "you gave no reliabel source of information either", then I would continue to link the definition of the word.
I am no saint, I am wrong at times, and if someone says I'm wrong, I want to hear why, I want to know how I am wrong so that if I am wrong I can accept it. It seems too much to ask from a lot of people in this site, and no matter how many people like to think they're more accepting of other people's opinions on here, they can't handle when they have been proven wrong, where as I can when it is explained how I am wrong.
Is there any point being part of a community if you have these opinions that are offensive, yet have truth to them, when the commuinity can't understand that offensive doesn't mean unable to be fact? I would be stupid to keep myself in such an enviroment.
I feel like I'm smacking my face with a shovel whenever I have to debate with most people on this site. I wish most of the older users would come back, they were far more my type of people, and they were far more understanding. They were able to leave their opinion behind, listen to mine with a clean mind, then apply it to what their original opinion was, then understand if they are wrong or not, that just doesn't happen with this new generation of IIN users.
Maybe my time on the site has gone on too long? I know something has changed, and I'm pretty sure it's not me. The only things that have involved something different with me is having opinions on matters I didn't think of at all before.
I don't expect people to like me, respect me, or treat me nicely. I just expect people to be a bit more open, more understanding. Most of all, I want them to think in two ways, an emotional way and a logical way, without them connecting together, because emotion always wins with users on here.
"I know something has changed, and I'm pretty sure it's not me."
Do you remember the time you said: "Old ItDuz, how I pity you."? I think you must've changed or else what would cause you to say something like that? Maybe you were just in a form that day.
I understand what you are saying, but have you ever considered that 'one' of mankind's greatest flaws is failure to communicate? Most of the time when people get hold of information they don't know how to convey it correctly. I wish I knew history better because I'm sure there are plenty examples of this.
Anyhow, sometimes people won't understand the things you think, same for you with millions of other people. The greatest teachers know how to make everything they teach understandable to their students. No matter how different they are, believe it or not, we can all come to a common ground with one another and agree with facts, logic, philosophy, emotion, etc. When it's being taught in an understandable format. The way you understand things in completely different from the way others do. And, what is easy for you to understand might take others forever to grasp. See what I'm saying?
I know exactly what you mean. I've been here for close to five months now, so I'm not too familiar with the older users, but I do read a lot of the older threads, IIN seemed darker back then. Now, it seems like people are tip-toeing around to make sure they please certain people. Why, just the other day, someone made a post 'How do you want me to answer your questions', to me, that was silly because the results he/she gathered were obvious and it DID seem like he/she was trying to please the authors. Why can't you just answer how you would normally? If you are helpful, kind and funny, then be that. If you're troll or spammer, troll or spam. If you want to share personal experiences, then do IT. Simple.
Heh, sometimes you and the others go on forever and I cannot keep up with you! So,I bail out. I wish I and payed more attention to some of your debates now, I would be able to see where things go wrong more easily. Sometimes facts aren't always right. I'm sure you know that, though. When you come across knuckle heads like that, don't even dignify them with a response. It's not worth your time. In the long run, it doesn't mean anything really. It just means that you are wrong or right, or, they are wrong or right. Right or wrong to who? An anonymous person you'll never know.
I think now that you've made it obvious that you are displeased with being thumbed down, a certain few users thumb you down for the reaction they get out of you. It's childish but I think that's exactly what's happening. I believe it for one reason; you always have roughly around the same amount of down votes. Don't let it bother you too much. Beside six or seven down votes from six or seven people is not a lot. Just a splash in a bucket. Another penny in the pond.
I'm not sure any of that will make sense to you, but I hope 'ItDuz.'
Wow! Did you really type those two replies in under a two minutes? It takes me forever to type! D: I need a real keyboard.
I'm going to see Batman - The Dark Knight Rises, tomorrow at midnight. I'm so excited! I have not slept in twenty hours! I'm going be good for s**t when I go. Not sure why I'm telling you this. Haha! Guess I'm tired. :}
Yes, I remember that time, but that was aimed at my grammar and how I was trying not to offend people. Not sure what you mean by the third bit. If you mean me, I think we both know I try to communicate with people on subjects a lot. I see what you're saying, but there have been times when it is very simple to understand, yet they "choose" not to because it would show them wrong. If I don't understand something, I'll ask them to explain it, others would just continue saying it's wrong without trying to understand. I agree. We're being more emotional to people to not offend them than thinking "Hold on, I may be right, and their feelings aren't going to get in the way of fact". I agree, but it gives off the impression that debate is pointless if they are trying to debate, yet are refusing to take up resposnibility of debate. It's not the thumbing down that irritates me, it's why they thumb me down that irritates me. If they thumbed me down and explained why, I can accept that, I'm not always right. I get irritated when it's obvious they do it due to emotional reasons. I rely on logic winning over emotion to take something seriously. 'ItDuz' Make sense to me, don't worry.
Tell me how it goes, I want to see that film, it looks good. (Don't give me spoilers, though). Hope you had some sleep before you went, otherwise you might fall asleep at the movie. Hope you have fun.
To elaborate on the third part: I think you do a fine job and stating your point, it's not that. I think it's the way you do it, that's where things take a turn for the worse -sometimes- not all the time. And, it no means am I trying to offend you or anyone else. I see it coming form both ends. I understand your points, most of the time, sometimes I don't see it, though. Could be because I live in the States and you live in Europe? Plus, I don't follow this topic as much as some people do. I probably should know more, but I don't. People don't like to hear the truth as it goes... If you are going to tell people the truth, you have to do it in a way where they cannot use your offence tone as excuse to ignore what you are saying. Don't give room for anything. Because the truth is the truth. It just depends on how you want to say it.
I have see the times where people bull up and insult you and try to make you look like a moron. To me? It looks like they are indeed trying to ignore your point by turning to insults. You would do best to ignore those types.
Who knows? Maybe IIN will go back to the way it use to be? I've seen people make threads about how "IIN has changed". Then I see people say, "It has always been like this." That's a lie I tell you, LIES! I've been here for four moths or so and it is different: fact. It hasn't always been like this and if people want to believe that, then so be it. I am sure they know it, though they won't accept it, for whatever reason that may be. People are strange. Honesty; it will not kill you, it will set you free.
Thank you. I did mange to steal a few hours, so I was good for the theater. It was pretty good! When ever I see a live-action adaptation, I don't go with mind set-on it being anything like the book. It was entertaining, though. I would go see it again. I'll put it this way - it should have been rated R. The neat thing is, I'm writing my own live-action Batman saga and it gave me a huge amount of room to make mine one of the best adaptations, ever! I'll cast you as, Batman. Haha, that would be interesting.
I see your point completely, and I agree that I am wrong sometimes. When I debate, I'm not only trying to prove my point, I'm also trying to come to the correct conclusion so that if I'm wrong, I progress. If I am wrong, and it is obvious I am wrong, I will say "You're right, thanks for correcting me, I was wrong". I dislike this whole idea that I am just some arrogant person that never thinks they're wrong, because to my observation, I have admitted to being wrong more than most on the site. I don't like sugar coating things. I think that if people can't handle the truth in its purest form, then they should click on to the thing. If they are going to get offended, I am just oblivious to what had drawn them to the internet where most offending things happen. I don't like the whole "depends how you say it" thing. I understand why you said it, and I am in no way saying you're wrong, I think you're right, people need to be talked to in an emotional manner, yet are very likely to get offended when they just get a stone cold truth. I don't like that, and I dislike it when people will state that "I'm" being illogical because they got "offended" and don't like what I said, not that it actually is illogical.
If a fact is something that is not a positive look on whatever it is the truth is aimed at, then why should I act like it is, yet state it isn't?
I agree, people do that to me often. Regardless, they still think insults and saying I'm wrong, without giving any reasons, yet think that their word alone is enough. Yet, I am the arrogant one...
Now I want to see it even more. I'll have to wait to see it, though. I think us Brits don't get the new films released as early as the US do, unfortunatly. How far along are you on the saga? Me? batman? Between you 'n' me, I can do a bad ass throat cancer impress...I mean batman impression. Lol.
I have seen you admit to being wrong before. That's very admirable of you, most people will not do that. I think it's ridicules if someone thinks you never admit to being wrong. There's proof all around this site. Arrogant? Aren't we all arrogant at times? Even if you are, now what? That doesn't change the situation at hand.
"If a fact is something that is not a positive look on whatever it is the truth is aimed at, then why should I act like it is, yet state it isn't?" <--- Could you elaborate on that part a little more, please?
D**n. Did I make it sound like I wanted you to be emotional? Sorry, that was a communication error on my part. Be more 'assertive'. Don't use, Sir Adolf Hitler, as an example. That's like taking the biggest bazooka out of the vault to shoot a man with a knife, when you only needed a six shooter. He may be a powerful example, but it can make you look like someone who's going for the easy kill. See what I mean? I'm not asking you to agree with me, I'm making a point that you might have not considered before. And in no way am I judging you or trying to be offensive, okay?
Also, don't let the person you are debating with derail you from the topic. If they start picking on your grammar and insulting you, pay no attention to them. They are just trying to make you angry so you'll start talking about their grammar or start using BIGGER WORDS LIKE THEM and so forth. Don't stoop to that level. If they are being emotional, then you do the same thing, what does that make you? You may not be getting emotional, but it would appear that way to everyone else. Present your original question once more, if they keep it up, move on.
I am, puzzled by people clicking on the threads myself. People are strange. I've seen you make threads about men and women and the users turn it into a "women" only issue? Based on what you said in the past! Harboring ill thoughts can make a man sick with delusions. 'Tis true.
If there's some part in that ^ you want me to explain in further detail, just ask. I know I get lost in translation at times or I lose whoever I'm speaking with.
Hahaha! I would like to hear that! You could record yourself doing a bit from- The Dark Knight and send it in. Are you good at acting? | Hmm, not as far along as I should be. You may or may not know this, but I also work on videogames. In my home of course. I'm not in the big league yet. Hell, I'm not even in minor league. That keeps me pretty busy. While I like writing books and films, my heart belongs to videogames. They are easier to make too.
So far, I have the basic premise, which is liable to change at any giving moment if a better alternative were to present itself. My older sibling works on comic books, he's an artist and a writer. Pretty good too, though, I think he could do better if would try harder. I have the camera angles and the lighting details that I would use for Gotham City. I know which villains I'm going to use for the first film and how they'll play into the second film. I'm working on a score, but that's tough! That's the main portions I have. Everything else is splashes of this and that and here and there.
Agreed, and I'm glad someone has noticed so that it is known by others that I am not lying that I admit to being wrong.
What I am basically getting at is that you can be either more emotional for people, which limits the ammount of fact you can tell. Half and half in which you still are not giving out the full, cold truth, or fully truth, regardless of emotions.
That is what I thought you meant, that I should be more emotional. Might of been my fault, I might of read it wrong. I think the Hitler example can be quite a bad one, but sometimes it can be a logical one. I agree that sometimes I may of used Hitler at wrong times for an example. Don't worry, I know you aren't trying to be offensive.
I agree, I shouldn't stoop to their level. Although, have you seen some of the people that debate with me? There have been times when I know that if I rpely to their insults, it will derail the actual debate, so I continue only talking about the subject...Yet they continue to simply say "you're wrong, you're stupid, you're wrong, I don't need to prove you wrong".
I'm alright at acting. I sometimes pull small pranks by acting, and most believe the part I'm playing for the prank. I'd probably kill myself trying to do a Batman impression. My tombstone would read -R.I.P, tried to steal Batman's thunder- I'm ok at acting, but I wouldn't say I'm any good for being an "actor", if you get what I mean.
You should link them on your profile once you finnish it, I'd give it a look.
I understand now, thanks. Well, I think there is a balance, a balance that is rather difficult to find most of the time. I think you {as in you, ItDuz} will be able to find that balance eventually. You will be able to state the facts in full using the tones that are appropriate for the occasion. Some things can only be done in the dark, while others must be done in the light of day. Night and day are perfectly balanced. Sometimes people -need- to be called a 'moron' or an 'idiot', there's nothing wrong it, if, it is the truth. If someone chooses to be offended by it, then, they are a said "moron".
Nah, it may be both of this time, but I take a hefty amount of responsibility for it because I almost never make my points as clear as I should. I am not a good teacher... Yeah, I've seen them. Delete their comments! Heh, that wouldn't be a very good idea. Anyway, I've seen you stay on topic, while the others don't. It's a huge positive when you do so. As I've mentioned before - don't give them a third chance, it's two strikes then you are out of here. That would be the best remedy for moronic behavior.
Hahahaha! "tried to steal Batman's thunder". That's great! Yeah, I know what you mean. You should try it just to know what you sound like, though. You wouldn't have to share it with the rest of us. I love acting and roll playing, it's a lot of fun. I'm alright at acting, I can make myself cry on command. That's a plus for actors and actresses.
Whoa! I would link them directly to you and maybe a few others, but I would never put them on public display. I'm too paranoid when it comes to my art for that. I, would definitely like to know what you think, so I'll probably do that once I have things slightly more solidified. As of now? It looks like a hobo consumed a whole banquet after binge drinking. It's not a pretty picture. At least that's how it looks to me. Others might think differently.
I'll never change. My image and character to everyone else, that can change. I doubt it will on here, but I would not be suprised. When I act like the way I commented, it usually means I'm taking some sort of image and making it my own so that I don't be myself.
I doubt it'll happen fully, though, so if you're worrying, don't.
My observation is that you show much more preemptive defensive behavior than when I first came here.
My opinion: everybody has a different one and everybody has different reasoning skills. Personally, I'm a study geek and I think that you would do your argument a lot of good and put a lot of things into perspective for yourself and your argument if you studied (yes, I'm going to make myself look like a pretentious bitch by making actual recommendations) basic sociology, basic economics, basic psychology and neurology, as well as fundamental Criminal Justice and historical criminal justice and advanced history in regards to western society as well as logic (which is technically a facet of philosophy) and philosophy basics.
You have a lot of good concepts, but you could use basic underatandings in these fields of academia. I know you have the potential but it's difficult for me to address your arguments because one, I'm usually stoned, two, brevity matters and three, it's difficult to utilize brevity from me to you as I would have to incorporate lessons of these basics into my argument and I'd gladly do so as well as cite my sources and I'd gladly bounce these concepts around with you because I have a feeling that I could teach you so much about your cause however without firm knowledge of the basics on your part, this would be a one way street!
I'm not criticizing you by any means, I feel that you're intelligent and you have good ideas but you need to understand that, as a scholar, I feel that there is *so* much more to your arguments than even you see at the moment, and you could develope a greater rhetoric however you must open yourself up to greater flexibility when it comes to study.
I have nothing against you. It is a little disheartening that you seem to play favorites with gender on certain topics but I feel the same way when people do or for women. Ultimately, I have nothing against you or anyone else on this site for that matter because I don't fucking know any of you.
Out of everyone on the site, I've had the most arguments with you, by a lot. So you probably think I dislike you. I really don't, what I dislike is this. It's not the you we know (and love:P) and I really preferred the old version. I love your humour, but this behaviour is very strange to me.
I hope this makes you feel more comfortable about being yourself, because after all the arguments we had I should probably want you to change, but I don't.
My Mom and my aunt are both in their mid-forties and only about one year apart. My aunt has tanned consistently since she was about 20, and my Mom never (purposefully) tanned in her life.
My Mother is pale, Irish, with dark brown hair and green eyes and my Aunt is tanned with dyed blonde hair and brown eyes. My Mom could pass as a decade younger and my aunt only wishes that she looked her age.
Tanning makes you look great in the short run, but considering that I have seen the way the genes play out in my family, I think I'll keep my pale skin and the extra decade of youth on my face, thanks.
I think pale skin is beautiful, and I'm not keen on darker or tan skin, so to each their own. But don't be so mean about it. Some people are really beautiful with pale skin, and not everyone has freckles with pale skin.... and even so, freckles are beautiful too. :)
Seriously though, I have no freckles until about half way through the summer they start to develop on my skin from the sun. Not a lot of outdoor activity for dappled?
I only burn once a summer, and after that it is fine, although oddly my skin stays pretty average rather than getting dark. If I get a ton of sun, freckles will start to spread across the face and shoulders, although they are rather large, and spaced out. Also, my beard is red while my hair is brown. Talk about your odd pigmentation!
Maybe you've got the same heritage as me. I always think there's a bit of Viking in me because bits of my stubble go red, and some above my top lip actually goes blonde, but my hair is dark brown. I'm like some kind of tricolour cat. Which is ironic, because I used to be one of those. ;)
No It's Not Normal. I think your a looks obsessed freak who is probably constantly tanning. Your probably tan, and think that anyone who doesn't look like you is ugly, because your probably narcissistic.
Yeah, I'm pretty pale. IT'S SO GROSS. Except not. Because it's my skin. And I can't change it. Unless I feel like getting skin cancer. Sooo. I kind of hope this post was a troll.
Try getting a tan. A real tan! Don't overdo it though. If you're still pale and can't get tan, enjoy the skin you're in. I'm tan and went through a phase where I wanted to be black. Now I take damithol and think "damn it all! I'm me". Now I'm proud to be tan and like I'm Hi-C! Life's got you down? Try damithol!
I know you didn't mean it like that. Like me, you probably live in a society where whiteness is thought of as the default. I pointed that out not because I think you're racist, but because things like that can perpetuate that sort of thinking, even when you don't mean for them to.
Yes no worries. But if someone does take it seriously then they don't have to like me. A lot of things I say I don't mean. :) I just like sarcasm and love to joke.
Yes, thats when they should say something then if you hurt them. Some people can be too sensitive. Which I can be sensitive at times, but I try to let people know in a joking matter really. ha
I'm pale and don't have any spots or freckles. I understand the type you're talking about - blotchy, sallow and spotty. I find that look repulsive as well.
I'm sorry... So people can't be tan. I'm unable to get tan because of my skin tone and how fair it is. You can deal with it cause your a little stuck up... Dontcha think?
I find pale skin beautiful, much more than artificially tanned skin. The most beautiful girl I had ever seen was extremely pale with red hair and freckles. I thought she was amazing looking.
But pale skin looks so clean and lively..but i dont know, im not to keen on dark skin, at times it looks greasy, shiny and ashy. But any natural pigment is better than fake tanning shit...
Bitch, I have pale shiney skin, don't diss!

I'm going to see Batman - The Dark Knight Rises, tomorrow at midnight. I'm so excited! I have not slept in twenty hours! I'm going be good for s**t when I go. Not sure why I'm telling you this. Haha! Guess I'm tired. :}
Lol.
My tombstone would read -R.I.P, tried to steal Batman's thunder-
I'm ok at acting, but I wouldn't say I'm any good for being an "actor", if you get what I mean.
You should link them on your profile once you finnish it, I'd give it a look.
I doubt it'll happen fully, though, so if you're worrying, don't.
So chill, man.
I hope this makes you feel more comfortable about being yourself, because after all the arguments we had I should probably want you to change, but I don't.
Why on earth did you have to remind me about her?!
Whatever you think, nothing looks worse than an overdone fake tan where the person is the colour of oak.
There's really nothing else to say to this. You have your preference; others have theirs. And so the world turns round and round.
Anyway, I must disagree because I think pale skin is quite sexy.
Except not. Because it's my skin. And I can't change it. Unless I feel like getting skin cancer. Sooo. I kind of hope this post was a troll.
Why would not this be 'normal'? It's a preference. I just hope the love of your life is not pale with freckles! What would you do then?
But I like pale skin. Most of the guys I've liked were pretty pale. I think guys with freckles are pretty cute too. Gotta love them irish men.... :)
I didn't say I don't like people with dark skin.
What about Edward from Twilight?? :O
