Is it normal to want a praying mantis tattoo?

I love praying mantises, they're such an interesting and noble insect. Many of them are very beautiful, too. Just look up the Orchid Mantis. Is it normal that I would like to get a tattoo depicting this insect? I'm still not sure what I want it to look like exactly or where I want to put it. I'm female, so I know I want it to be feminine looking.

That's really neat, I love tattoos that show things from nature.

Sure it is normal to get a tattoo of whatever you want. I like that it is not very common. If you get it you will have to post a pic for us to see.

Thanks, and I would post a pic if I was getting it anytime soon. Since a tattoo is permanent, I think I would like to make a picture of it first and carry that around with me for a few months to see if I still like the idea.

It's perfectly normal. However, I don't really suggest getting the mating rituals of the praying mantis as a tattoo.

Haha, of course not. I don't think that that would be a very pretty or feminine tattoo.:P

Do it! They're SICK! I've been thinking about mantis tattoo as well, but style wise it won't fit with the rest of my ink. Glad to see I'm not the only one fascinated with them!
