I'm still pretty young, and I already know in my heart that I NEED to be in the military to protect my loved ones. Is this normal?

Sorry, you need to be signed in to comment.
also the military is not just a career but a lifestyle multifaceted. meaning its not just health insurance and rentfree and free school.
honestly most of the marines i served with never made it to the free school, they stayed in or got married.
whatever decision you make remember are you doing it for recognition or are you doing it because it will make you happy.
i used to want to be a police officer, now i realize it is very dangerous and underpaid, and that i just wanted some sort of power and authority. That i wanted the status and social recognition.
you will end up doing what you want.
but make your motto .... "whatever it takes"
basically after the decision to join every decision following it will be for the military life.
no drugs
no girlfriends they will just guilt trip you
no homies they never keep in touch
but i can tell you
the pros
a brotherhood for life some of the best friends you will meet in life is from usmc
(in any situtation trust your gut they wont be loyal just cause they are marines you still have to put effort into weeding out the douchebag steal your girl types)
training that will get you paid...
i know only airstation people get out and make hella money from having avionics experience about 25$ an hour contractors and they can even go over seas and make 300 a day.
great insurance
great life experiences.... oh jeeze, my fav memories are from it. i mean alot of binge drinking so be careful or you will get busted down!
and lost your pay...
it is normal to want to be it, you want routine and respect, which is what you will get there and when you come home to visit.
if you realy want to protect them get a gun and learn to use it and do the same for the rest of your family.
