I know drugs can be bad for you, but is it normal to want to try them? My life is very stressful and all my friends do drugs and they all are happy and stuff and i just feel like i am in the corner feeling all stressed out.
It's perfectly normal to want to try drugs. Especially when you lead a stressful life. But it doesn't mean you should do it.
They might be happy when you see them, but drugs have serious crashes. Also, they tend to cost a stupid amount of money, which adds more stress.
People get sick from them. And then, the whole addiction factor. And besides that, people tend to try more drugs even if they start on something viewed as a "minor drug."
It's all bad. But yes hun, wanting to try drugs is perfectly normal. Just don't do it.
perfectly normal, but self medicating is a bad way to go..... i used to be a total stoner, and it just made it worse. my brother is a heroin junkie (he's got anxiety disorder) and he's more miserable now than he was before he started drugs.
if you really can't deal, and yoga/therapy/meditation don't work for you, look into some prescription meds GIVEN TO YOU BY A REPUTABLE PSYCHIATRIST. you will have to be monitored closely as anti-depression meds can cause adverse reactions in some people and actually make them more depressed.
Dude drugs are perfectly normal. god wouldnt put them on the earth if they werent supposed to b here. they allow u to get a better idea of who u are. plus they r fun and give u something to do
all i have to say is stay clear of drugs that f*** up ur looks such as meth and crack
WEED LIVES ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was liek that, but never tried them most of my friends who did or do drugs are sort of ok... soem of them are not, and the girl i was in love wih needs coke to even get up in the morning and is 4 months pregnant with god knows whos baby, well she was sleeping with 4 drugdealers at hte same time, and her ex so that narrows it down i guess. im not telling you theyre bad, just cause everyoen else does it doesnt mean its good for you and... if you do it be careful
weed, magic mushys nd acid are all amazing in nature.. f*** that disco light doof s***! so0o0 agree with you skyebugs, the freelovin drugs are the way to go, not the diiiirty stuff :)
:) yeah it's normal. I have smoked weed a few times and i often want to smoke it when i'm feeling down because i have a bit of anxiety and weed helps me calm down and forget about my worries.
my advice is if you're gonna try drugs just stick to weed. and if you do choose to do weed try not to let it take over your life. I'm not saying that being a pothead is bad or that people who smoke pot everyday are bad people, I'm actually quite close with someone who smokes pot usually everyday, but i have had a few conversations with this person and he has told me that pot has screwed up quite a few relationships with people he cares about, and how he wished he could be more productive but pot has made him lazy, but he still continues to do it even though it causes him problems because it has become such a habit.
It's totally normal to want to try drugs, and guess what, they work. With the "right drug" all your bad feelings will go away and you will feel wonderful...at first. Soon it will turn, and when it does it won't be pretty. The pain you feel now will pale in comparison to the misery you will experience. Save yourself the agony.
When it comes to drugs, depressants make depressed people feel better (lol), while psychedelics make them feel worse. Drugs (especially psychedelics) cause very neat experiences, but they are only "good" if used experimentally and occasionally. If you are depressed or have an addictive personality, I would strongly suggest not doing drugs, because you may become addicted, and initially pleasant drugs will end up turning on you. If you think you can control it, you are right. If you think that this fact makes you different from drug addicts, you are wrong. Everyone *can* control it, but most addicts simply don't want to stop. Even if they know on an intellectual level that it's bad, their emotions usually take over, especially since they can't use their intellect very well during periods of addiction. Don't think I'm saying that addiction requires no willpower to stop. Quite the opposite, it requires willpower because the addict feels that the drug benefits them in some way, therefore they feel as though they are stopping something that is good for them because it produces pleasure. If you disagree, remember the context that I'm typing in right now. Emotional vs. intellectual.
Also, things like withdrawal symptoms and returning to a "boring" or depressed state may cause someone to keep using the drug.
I was addicted to pot once. I smoked about half a gram (eventually a whole gram) of medium, sometimes very high-quality weed every day for about two months, recently quitting after experiencing symptoms of mild schizophrenia while sober, including flashing figures, bad memory, feeling that a stranger may be in the house, feeling "spaced out", being more aggressive, and feeling that my position in the house was a lot more defined, almost like seeing myself walk through the house instead of seeing what was in front of me. Things sometimes looked like props, even while I was sober. It mostly cleared up after a few days. This comment is becoming long and straying off-topic, so I'll end here.
Oh, right, your question, I forgot about that. Yes, it's normal, especially for teenagers. Who has never wondered what a psychedelic experience is like?
"God" also put poo, torture, black people, and rape on the earth.
"stay clear of drugs that f*** up ur looks"
Are you kidding? What about all the damage going on inside? Besides, most drugs make you look worse.
And weed, that crap just damages you a bit more slowly, but it's as bad in the long run. Remember, weed is just a herb that god put on the earth, just like Hemlock and Datura. Rape and violence are just physical contact. They're just interactions between humans, like love and sex. Datura is often worse for you than crack, smack, and PCP combined. Just a herb, an innocuous plant of god's creation... dolt.
Well its often normal that some experiment with drugs. Experiment is different than you & the bad idea around self medication to deal with your unhappiness. Others have elaborated. Bad idea for you and will make things worse.
It is normal. SWIM has tried LSD, marijuana, and an amphetamine pill found on a bus.
The fact that you use the blanket term 'drugs' suggests that your education on the subject is lacking. I'm not insulting you, but since you're apparently curious, it's crucial that you differentiate between somewhat safe drugs (weed, vitamin R, maybe really low doses of LSD with supervision) and drugs that can f**k you up REALLY fast (heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine).
