Look at the Mona Lisa close enough and you'll notice its cracks, creases, and smudges but from a far enough Distance, it looks beautiful.

I guess my Point is that the less we know about each other, the more idealistic we can assume we are.

The option is there for some but others enjoy the anonymity of the site.

ASL? No. I love the profiles just the way the are. Anyone who wants to disclose that information can, and those who don't want to have a choice not to. If you want to get to know someone, learn about them from their comments. -my 2 cents- :)

I thought most users already do that anyway. I've noticed a few when I've bothered to check.

Hmm, make it easier for people to relate to them? I think I know what you mean but I still think it's better for people to learn to relate to each other regardless of whether one is male and one is female, or one is 19 and the other is 27, or one is Icelandic and the other is Zambian.

A few users have. I posted one of my poems for my bio and a few links. Some people post long, complex and wonderful bios. The option is there, but you could learn more about a person by talking to them on the site. Some people like the anonymity on here, though.

Some people, like me, would rather our comments be the focus of attention, not our gender, age or nationality.

But the option is there for people who do want to share :)

I don't bother with profiles, it's the Internet so I don't know what to believe with what people put in them. I prefer to learn about people through their views and the way they express them.
