Is it okay that I like a boy of a different race?

I met this guy and I have a HUGE crush on him. He's nice, and funny and we talk sometimes. Lately, he's been talking to me more. The other day, he was cracking jokes, and while me and all my friends were laughing, he asked me specifically why I laugh a lot (and I told him I don't like being unhappy, which I guess he thought was a good enough answer.) Then, another day, he was playing around and tapping me on my shoulder to get me to turn around and look at him (and I thought it was kind of funny because I'm really childish) and one of his close friends asked me (in front of him and all my friends) if I'd go out with him. I told him I don't know because we just met because I didn't want him to think I was some weirdo stalker. We have a lot of un together, but the only problem is that I'm an African American and he's caucasian. Is there anything wrong with that? Should I be concerned? Or, is it normal?
