Is it normal to like people based off of their personality, and not by how they look?

Sure, I do think people are attractive on the outside, but I've been judged so many times and I don't really like it. So, I've tried not to do it to other people, and I've found it's a LOT better to date an ugly guy/girl with a great personality rather than an attractive girl/girl with a bad personality.
Most people say it's strange that me, a decent looking girl would date such "ugly" people. They're not ugly though, the people who call them ugly don't even know them.

When getting feelings for people, we come for their appearance but we stay for their personality, so it's perfectly normal and I would even say that it's better to judge wether you want to date someone on their personality rather on how they look.

That's not strange. A bad personality is much more of a turn-off than physical appearance. If it was all about physical appearance, Hollywood actors and actresses wouldn't keep getting divorced four months after getting married.

Men with bad pesonalities often do well with women for some reason, nice guys finish last. Not so much the other way round though, people are weird.

Yeah, the way I look at it is that women want some traits that are known as bad and men often overdo it. What women actually seem to want is men who display certain traits but also know when to rein it in, and also don't have these traits in other areas. In the absence of a man they like, they settle for someone bad because at least they get part of what they want.

I think its great that you think like this! More people should be doing this. Besides, there are times when you might not find them so attractive at first, but the more you get to know them, and their personality, an attraction to them begins to grow.

This is not strange at all. Its normal, but not common.

This world would be a much better place if everybody was like you. If more people saw a person for what was inside of them rather than what they look like there would be so much less hate!

I'm the same way. I see people for their inner beauty, not mere physical attraction. My boyfriend, for example. People may look at him, and think, "Ew, he's ugly and overweight." But his personality is wonderful, and it makes him beautiful. I love him for who he is, and once you view someone for their personality, their appearance reflects it.
