The Jerboa is in threat of extinction. Do you think we should protect it? It is found in the Scobie desert in Mongolia and China only.
The long-eared jerboa (Euchoreutes naso) is a jumping rodent whose legs are specially adapted for jumping like a kangaroo and is easily recognised by ears which are about a third bigger than its head.
It is a primarily nocturnal insect-eating animal which spends its daylight hours in underground tunnels.
I want one for Christmas so if there are any generous IIN'ers....
But the case here is different.. We want them to EXTINCT.
But you should do more reading. They also live in the U.S. It may be that they were imported; I'm not sure of that. But apparently, they may be had as pets, though it sounds like you'd have an easier time getting one if you're in Europe or the U.K. (Perhaps you'd also like one of my lovely cats in your stocking?)
