Killing Frogs

Is it normal that when I was around the age of 6 a friend(who was also 6) and I killed frogs? I don't mean by just stepping on them, but by shoving sticks through their stomachs, and having it come out their backs...and chucking them up in the air letting them land on cement. We kind of felt bad after so we said we were feeding the animals in the woods(where we disposed of the bodies) but always went back to doing it. Is this normal childhood behavior? Especially considering we did it on more than one occasion?
Do you think it's normal?

No that is very cruel! Frogs should be left alone. You also might want to get help. people who torture and kill animals sometimes become serious offender and sometimes mass murderes. No kidding
This person is right ^
Little kids have a natural urge to kill animals... cruelty is part of nature, which is why young carnivores tend to play around with the animals they kill. However, since we live in a society, this behavior should have been discouraged, but since you feel bad about it now (I think), it's ok.
Yes, I suppose that is normal to some degree. Unfortunately it's not uncommon. When I was that age I caught frogs and toads because I just loved them so much. I'd admire them for a while then let them go.
When my cat was a ferral kitten, I was trying to catch her and her sibling to adopt them. Her brother was killed on the road by some boys about 9 yrs old. A neighbour saw them beat the kitten with sticks and leave him by the curb. (I got her though.) I'm glad you didn't turn out like that, did you?
My brothers use to do stuff like that. I remember him placing frogs directly on the fire grill & placing a lid over them & listening to them jump up & down, hitting the lid & sizzling on the grill. Yuk! Although my sister and I didn't participate, we sat & watched. I think most people have that instinct but either don't do it or don't talk about it.

although i think that's cruel..i do think it's normal, because it happened when you were a kid and kids do weird things. I know someone who used to pull the wings off butterflies and the legs of other insects (like daddy long legs' and stuff) :(
I did this too, and I think that it is normal for boys. If you're a girl, you might be concerned. Still, it surely is wrong.
The little boy monk ties rocks with strings onto various animals, frog, snake and fish, and his master teaches him a lesson by tying a rock to him and making him untie the animals he abused. The snake and fish were deadand he had to bury them and the regret stayed with him his entire life.

Behavior like that has been proven to lead to more serious anger issues in adolescence and adulthood. I think it's natural to some degree (who hasn't tried frying ants with a magnifying glass?) but it can also be indicative of feelings of powerlessness, anger, etc. Doing it once is curiosity--doing it more than once means that you were actually enjoying the act of torturing and killing another living thing. That's a bit worrisome. Of course, you were also only six, and many six year olds don't really have a complete grasp of the concept of death--they don't know how permanent it is, nor do they have a real idea of their own mortality. You might want to talk to a therapist, just to be safe. Having done that definitely doesn't mean you're a bad or cruel person, but a therapist could help you sort out why you did it, help you feel less guilty and see if there's a more serious underlying problem.

i hope you and your friend die a slow and painful death, you fucking prick.
About the age of 6, two girls and me visited a neighbour, he was 6 too. He collected baby frogs in a bucket and made us all piss in the bucket till they drowned. There was nothing "sexual" about it (on my part) and I never did it again. Years later I read a Gore Vidal short story on a similar theme, and it made me wonder... Peace. Niles.
