I'm 29 (male) and I've never had a long term relationship.
Fancied a fair few, obsessed about about a few, been out with a couple of girls (for not great deals of time). I've got a fair few friends - of both genders. Nearly everyone is either in a long term relationship now, or has had several in the past. It's getting harder to meet new people. Sometimes I get paranoid that couples only seem to invite other couples out. It's true I'm a quiet character, with not loads of confidence. I certainly couldn't do speed dating, and online stuff isn't much better. General perception seems to be no one gets anything from clubs n stuff these days, no one introduces you to new people (possibly as a lot of couples seem to stop meeting new people?).... anyways is it normal to be in this situation at 29? Shouldn't I be married with 2 kids, a mortgage,etc etc by now....

There is someone out there for everyone. Go to places you like and look for someone doing wot you like, talk, date, fornicate. These are the rules.

I'm in the same exact situation as you are, only I'm female (28). I've never had an actual serious 'boyfriend', though I've fooled around a few times. People look at me funny, (especially family), and I can't convince one of my aunts that I'm not gay. I love sex, I love men, but I guess I'm just not a woman men fall in love with (shrugs). Maybe the problem is in me, maybe it’s because when they start showing interest (and getting a little too needy-I can't stand needy people), I get scared and just run for my life.
I have only one friend who’s alone, all the others have wives/husbands or girl/boyfriends.
If you’re not normal, then join a club that, unfortunately, seems to be accepting new members at an exponential rate.

I'm due to be married here in a couple months. I have a piece of advice that I didn't even take when I heard it the first time, but it's true. The only time you find a good woman is when you aren't looking. The moral? We as men usually have a good habit of trying our asses off to get a girl and they can usually tell that. When you don't try so hard and keep confident, things usually start working better.

I think 30 is the time to have 2 kids and mortgage, 32 max, tho some dont til theyre 35. Get a move on!

If you're happy with who you are, there's nothing wrong with it. People should no pressure others to "couple up" than they should encourage heterosexuality or their religion. And if anyone bugs you about not having kids, remind them that there are too many people even now!

why would ya want to be married with 2 kids at 29? im 35, own my house, boat, 4wd and m/bikes,stay single and enjoy life or youll end up like most of my mates, divorced and paying for kids that you never get to see.

start wearing a weding ring single women love the idea of fucking a married man probably wont get a long term relationship that way lots off sex though ive got so much sex since i have been married not much from wife though only about once a week

dude, I'm 30 years old and your story sounds just like mine. I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that some of us just never meet 'the one'. If you hardly ever (or like in my case, never) meet girls you fall madly in love with, or live up to your standard, don't make that your problem. Because you wouldn't be able to change who you meet anyway, right ?
