Drugs like Midazolam (general anesthetic) last for around 15-20 hours in the body so effects six weeks later seems strange?

One thing to consider is that there are many forms of anesthetic if one is causing a reaction mention it to the doctor and try something else next time?

It is also possible that we are looking at a situation of post hoc ergo propter hoc (Latin for "after this therefore because of this.") While it may be tempting to attribute the symptoms to the anesthesia due to the fact that it occurred before the seizures began, it is not guaranteed to be the cause.

There are many things that could be going on here and it is impossible to narrow down the possibilities without knowing more, but the most important thing is to get the seizures under control with medication and get a proper diagnosis of the exact kind of seizure. There is a phenomenon with seizures called "kindling" in which you get more seizures simply because you have had seizures in the past and they ave reinforced neuropathways that make it easier for more to occur. Therefore, you should medicate to control the seizures, find the type and cause, and see where that takes you.

Children often have seizure conditions that are benign, such as childhood febrile seizures and a cluster of adolescent seizure disorders that, if controlled by medication, can easily disappear as one reaches adulthood.

try to do breathing exercise with incentive spirometer after surgery. it helps to get rid of anesthetic gases left from the surgery which usually cause drowsiness and nausea. i'm not sure what's with the seizures

Bioboy's comment is correct, and you should do everything you can to get the seizures under control. I would also like to add that long periods of certain kinds of anesthesia in children, especially newborns, can cause brain cells to die. Cell death might make seizures more likely. You didn't say how old your son was at the times of the surgery, but that might be a factor. Also, in general, "detoxifying" pills don't really do anything, and it was probably coincidence or time that made the seizures go away, so you should save your money.

I have some problems with it myself. Not that bad but I normally vomit mucus (cause I got nothing in my stomach obviously) after coming out of anesthesia.
