I am sick of life in the real world, I want to go out on my own and move into the mountains. I want to live by the river and build a shack by it. I want to grow corn and vegtables and live off of hunted animals I will catch in my traps. Im sick of taxes im sick of people I dont like im just sick of everything. I want to find a women to go with me and have kids with her and start my own village I want my kids to grow up in a world I have created for them. Does anyone agree?
Do you think it's normal?

i have dreamed manys a time about escaping and breaking away from the real world... this often made me feel sucidal even. i would stare at landscape drawings and pictures of rivers an dream i could escape it. i still do nowadays but i have become more content with my work and found an things and people that intrest me. i think you should do the same.
im not a person that want to force a person to integrate with eveyone else. i feel you should find things in this modern world that intrest you and persue them.

saying that my father still works and every weekend he takes the car and disapears into the hills with walking boots. i love to do the same aswell. its great to get back in touch with nature. i feel it is important to not forget your roots but you have to keep up with the world if you want to better yourself personally i feel.

thats jsut my opinion... live love to live in alaska if i was to breakaway :-)
I agree completely.

I'd prefer to live on an island though. And with a man, not woman.
Yeah, i'd love to live on a deserted sun soaked island with a woman who i love and we could grow all our own food etc... i would settle for that in the mountains though.
boobies
no, the city is the best, the country can suck my balls like the bogan infested boredom-filled shithole that it is.
I've always felt that something like that would be fun, and a much better way to live life. Theres just one problem. The next generation in your village will all be related. They will need to go kidnap some outsiders, either that or the the third generation will be filled with disgusting products of incest.
I'm so glad I had seen this post in the forum. I have thought about this a lot before. I had made up scenarios and how I could possibly survive. But the thing is, I do plan on living there. But I want a nice hosue right i nthe middle of the mountains. Maybe not a shack! But it is a fun good idea. I agree with you!
Take Me With You.
we have a camp kinda out in the middle of nowhere and i love to spend time up there. best part is the 1250 acres we own all around our camp
Thats my life goal. So, really normal.
This is exactly my dream, except with a Women. This is a normal feeling because the world around us is so crap.
same but im gonna get that girl first !! lol
You sound like my mum lol.
thats actually really sweet. modern life can seem really cold and hard sometimes.
Do it, but learn the necessary skills FIRST. Do not be like Christopher McCandless. Some tips: Oak, maple, and ash make good bows, machetes suck, and porcupines taste nasty.
and if your not sure about doing it watch "Jeremiah Johnson" and be amazed.
Sounds great!
I feel the exact same way! well i'm a woman, so i'd be looking for a man to do this with, lol. i just wanna escape the real world every day.
Id only the world wouldn't be so overpopulated, it could be more easily done. Many people like material values, the just make money and spend it. They are shallow.

Yes, It's completely normal. It's even recommended. (In 21st Century we have wireless internet, solar panels etc. It can be quite comfortable and exciting to live there)
reminds me of a book i read when i was younger.
I cant remember the name but it involved a boy who ran away from home i believe and moved into a forest or something and he had a pet falcon.

but anyways, its normal to think like that, i've always wanted to run away and live another life somewhere but sadly where i live there are no mountains
Wow I had no idea so many other people fantasized about this. I wonder if there are secret villages off in the wilderness where the people with the balls to follow through all went.
it's ok to be scared of the unknown but you really don't need to broadcast it.
Sick of living in the real world? Nah, you're searching for it.

Instead of talking about it, maybe you should just do it.
