I do this, mine smells like the sweets, like a cross Refreshers and Tic Tacs.

My wife hates it when I do this and thinks I'm obssessed.

The Japanses use Mimi Kaki's all the time, basically they are ear cleaning sticks, made from usually bamboo, with a curved rounded spoon type of end to it.
It feels really fantastic when your girlfriend does it for you, I am talking about the cleaning not the smelling, The smelling part is a little weird, but hey what ever rocks your boat.
Almost every Japanese souvenier shop sells about 100 different types of Mimi kaki.
They are so good, its really relaxing.

i think its just one of those quirky things people do, like looking at the tissue after you have blown your nose into it and the toilet paper after you wipe i mean that sounds gross but its normal.

It's totally normal! Seriously, everyone does it. You should ask your girlfriend//boyfriend to do it for you; they would probably think it was cute.

I think that's actually an OCD, cleaning your ears all the time. The reason you have so much wax in your ears is possibly because you clean them so much, they over-produce. Ear wax is there to protect your inner ear from insects and dust and other crap that might find its way into your ear.

I have quite a bit of earwax but I'm too chicken to stick things like pin lids in there. Instead I just use my fingers all the time and sometimes when my nails are long I scratch the inside of my ear to the point where it bleeds a TINY bit. I have a real bad habit of just sticking the finger in there and wiggling it around, sometimes really aggresively. It causes me to have blocked up ears and a couple of times really bad earache. I don't like the smell of it at all though, it's horrid. I often go and wash it straight off my fingers or wipe it on my clothes or something. Lol. Bad habit I guess.

Paper clips work good too, get a nice sticky chunk once is a while.
