Dear God I know what you're talking about. People who are excessively negative and not only can't seem to find actual adults to talk to but feel the need to drag others down with them. And funny, their mentality is usually the reason why people opt not to hang around them. I have relatives like that. Normal.
I realize this post is a bit old. Anywho, my mother has been away for a while working with FEMA. She just called me maybe half an hour ago because she misses me and my siblings. She is all upset and stuff because none of us call her while she is away, because whenever we do call her she just ends up crying and ruining the day for the rest of us. I know that sounds rude but honestly, I want to enjoy my day once in a while. She calls me up and says "You never call me anymore. Do you not love me?" need I remind you we haven't talked in weeks? She then proceeds to lecture me "You need to make sure you always do your homework. Don't go out unless you know that shit gets done." You figure if you haven't talked to someone in a few weeks they'll have something nice to say not lecture you about homework and cry about how much they miss you.
Honestly, I do care for my mother. I care for her quite a bit, I just can't stand her pessimism. I can't stand the constant annoyance of being bugged every day when I'm a very optimistic person. I try to be nice to her, but to avoid all of the bullshit, I don't talk to her too often.
