My sister and I
I'm a HS senior and have a sister that's 14 months younger. Growing up we were like most siblings: best friends and worst enemies. We played and shared secrets in the good times, and tattled on each other in the bad. I picked on her and she agitated me. Pretty normal kids, huh? But, not surprisingly, in the last few years we've grown distant. I've basically put up with her and she's tolerated me. I've thought she's b*tchy and she thinks I'm a nerd.
Nonetheless, over Winter Break we somehow rekindled our long lost friendship. We laughed, we joked, we talked a LOT, about the future and shared our thoughts with each other about a lot of stuff. We reminisced and had a really great week.
However, things went so well that we probably crossed the line. When we were reminiscing the topic was brought up about how we had played "you show me yours and I'll show you mine" a number of times when we were younger. We remembered how once after seeing shower a scene in an HBO movie, we had made a secret pact that we would take a shower together (we were probably 12 & 13 at the time) a pact which later ended when we got into a fight and she threatened to tell Mom. We remembered that story and well, we were just joking along and she kidded how that pact was still valid even though it's been 4 or 5 years. Of course, I said that she better watch out or I might hold her to it. Neither of us was serious at first, but as the conversation went on we got to the point where we both kinda said "It may sound crazy, but I'd do it if you would." Somehow it had escalated into a sort of dare.
Needless to say, and don't take me wrong because it was harmless, but we ended up taking a shower together. It wasn't sex, we didn't lay a finger on each other and nothing happened. But the fact is that we took a long shower together and really had fun. We didn't mind if we saw each other's bodies at all. We were totally comfortable naked in front of each other and had a really nice time. We've talked about it after the fact and we're both cool with it. We agree that even though we're probably way too old to have played "you show me yours" like that, that it was totally harmless and nothing sexual about it. I think it's possible that if the opportunity presents itself we might actually do it again maybe sometime over the summer. We both really enjoyed sharing that with each other and we'd love to do it again.
Although I know that it may not have been "normal" as the question asks, I'm wondering if it's not necessarily "abnormal" if that makes any sense. I know there are perfectly normal kids that grow up in nudist families and things like that. Are there others that have had similar "harmless" naked experiences with a sibling long after puberty? Please, I don't want anyone to respond with "I had sex with my sister" fantasies ~ this is totally different and they don't apply here, I'm just trying to be serious. Just wondering what others think.
