My doctor reccomends that all the time. He calls it saline, but I get's its the same thing.

The salt's supposed to make the water isotonic so it doesn't hurt (ever gotten fresh water up your nose while swimming?).

I've never followed his advise to use this technique. I've been in the ocean surf and gotten seawater up my nose plenty of times, and it hurts like hell.
That is 100%% normal to do and to use.
Yes, very good idea. But be careful of the ones at the drugstore, lots of them have chemicals that irritate your nasal passages. I use this one called "OCEAN" it's completely just SEA WATER, got it at organic store, works very well.
I have tried the stuff aero said...Ocean, it has a strange flavor if it runs down your throat. But that's my opinion - obviously.

Hey try a neti-pot. It works pretty good and your nose/nasal passages feel great like after you blow all the solution/salt water and mucous out. It is kind of like a nice "out of the shower" feeling, but for your sinuses.

I haven't used mine in a while; I need to get more sea salt. I would recommend fine sea salt (it dissolves better) Don't use iodized salt, it will burn. I would also recommend one (neti) that fits your nostril size, as you need a good seal. Just do a web search or go to a Video site to look into it. You might like it better than the spray bottle stuff, which is overrated, IMO.
Thats funny for you. But not the room mate! lol
Yes. My girlfriend suggests it, but I have yet to try it. Still, that means I won't blink and think "weird."
Yes. I use it
