Yeah, I've kind of noticed I don't want to date anyone I know. The girls where I live are extremely shallow (or at least the ones I know). I've even tried "making" myself like some girls my friend has tried to set me up with. Doesn't work for me, and I really find myself uncomfortable with the way they talk about other people, and generally with the way they act.

Sure, I'll look at a pretty girl if she walks by, but that's something different. I'm not interested in a short fling with someone I won't ever get to know well.

Dating is about finding someone you enjoy being around and takes time to find the right person. It isn't about trying to make things work out between you and her or faking how you truly feel. Lower your expectations when it comes to dating and eventually you will find someone who is a good match and fun to just be around. If dating feels like work for much of the time, the person is not a good match for you. Most of us are not good matches with others.

But, I just don't feel comfortable around most of the girls I know. Only one comes to mind, and it's my best friend's girlfriend (as cliched as that is). So I dunno if I'm just not talking to the right people or what.

Have fun being lonely then. If you aren't interested in putting an effort into dating then your gonna be alone. No one is gonna drop the perfect person into your lap. Anything, including dating, involves effort.

Whats wrong with you young blokes today girls have never been more open and ready to explore so what if theyre shallow its only their age that causes this dont be a pussy get out there and get amongst it you wont get to know anyone with that attitude
