no such thing as "guy" friends? - 57% Normal

In my personal experience...

Girls can definitely have guy friends and it can be purely platonic. But the other way around? I don't believe guys can be JUST friends with girls. I don't think a guy really has a reason to be friends with girls unless there is some sort of attraction, because lets face it, girls aren't exactly the most drama-free beings in the world. A lot of girls will disagree with me, but I highly doubt that if they made a move on any of their guy friends, that the guy would resist it. ;)

The traits we find most undesirable in other people are traits we most hate about ourselves.
It seems to me that any woman who says that guys can only be friends with women as a means to their "ends" is declaring that woman have no value beyond their genitalia.
I hope this is obviously ridiculous.
I guess I also have to state the obvious in that there are plenty of women who initiate intimate relationships %u2013 and sometimes, yes, deceptively.
Intelligent, kind, and entertaining people are definitely valued purely for their friendship, regardless of gender.

i dont know i must be weird but i like girls personalities just as much as i like them sexually, i like drama and girly stuff

I'm a 20 year old guy. In high school I got along with almost everyone. I had plenty of girls that were just friends. Many of the girls I talked to was purely out of friendship and some girls are easy to talk to. I'm a sensitive guy so I seek girls for better advice or I will give them advice well. I admit that some girls that I talked too were very attractive and I would most certainly have went further than being just friends. But out of respect for our friendship I never tried advancing the situation. So yea, it is possible to have Guy friends that are just friends.

I am a guy who agrees with your sister. I have struggled with this. No matter how hard I try I can't have a close friendship with a girl, without developing feelings for her. This is only a problem because I'd like to have more than one close friend. (I think guys are jerks, and I don't want guy friends.) I wish I could have friendships like the ones girls have with other girls. However, I'm a guy, and I'm starting realize that it just isn't possible for me. So sad.

I'd say it depends on how the guy acts around you. Lots of guys stay "friends" with girls hoping that the girl will notice that he is attracted to her. however, such relationships usually die off pretty fast as the wuss is too much of a wuss to do anything about it and she ends up with a stronger better guy. Then the two (wuss and girl) usually stay as friends, but the wuss still has "feelings" for her.

IDK how many guys will agree that this is true, but I can tell you confidently and truthfully that the above is true. Because at some point in the lives of every guy, he has been that wuss.

Of course girls & guys can be just friends. Even when they are hormone drenched teenagers its possible.

Every single one of my guy friends has liked me and told me.
So its pretty true, but I guess it depends with the situation.

I have friends who are girls/women. They are my best friends, always honest and sensitive and I think we will be friends for life.There is more to life than sex an the non-sex friends are the best. Not that I have any sex friends since I am married

I actually lost a lot of guy friends I once had when I met my latest boyfriend (1 1/2 years in so far) and he just wouldn't accept it. But, low and behold - he was right! All my guy friends saw my boyfriend as a threat to them and they all came clean about their feelings towards me. Sadly, he makes gal friends in hopes they can just be friends and the girls are the ones who advace him (knowing he has a girlfriend). Lucky for me, he shuts their hormones down and ends their friendship. In the past he's made gal friends because he figured "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" but, whatever. I talked to him til I was blue in the face convincing him that, as in my case and his, we just cannot have close friends of the opposite sex because they always end up showing their true colors.

If a girl is actually into cool or entertaining things and is not attractive then yes they can be just a friend.
