Noisy Eaters
I sit in a cubicle in front of a half-wit 45 year old that chews and chomps with its mouth open, sucks its fingers, and scrapes its bowl for long periods of time--to get every last spec of food. It brings 3 meals a day to prepare and eat at its desk. I call it ' the bowl scraper'. It cannot stop making noise. I asked my manager if I could move- and he addressed the noise to the bowl-scrapers manager, who did not think there was an issue.
I have said 'quit it' when I hear it scraping---it is peering inside its bowl mesmerized by its food. It thinks it is superior, as it only eats organic food. It does not make eye contact. It likes to yell on the phone, and says 'huh' alot. There is no getting through to make this idiot stop its ill-mannered behavior, and I have grown to hate this idiot.
Any suggestions?

A) get a airhorn and use it everytime it does the licking thing.

I would complain again to the manager, and also, have you simply asked the person loudly chewing and spitting if maybe he could keep it down?
He might not even be aware he's doing it, or that he's bothering you so much.
The pressure is on at work, and it gets agitated easily, when its routine of eating and scraping, and repeating itself is disturbed. I have tried to get others to trade seating, but no one wants to, as they can hear her eating and yelling a block away. Its manager does not think this is a problem. Often timees, I leave my desk when it begins eating/yelling. I stood up and asked it to lower its voice, and it did not respond to me. It has a certain air of arrogance. What would you do?
It is on the phone right now with it's whiny loud tyrade. No one else's work matters, It is working, and all important! Hear ye, Hear ye, It is talking!!!!

It has never spoken to me or made eye contact for the 2 years I have sat 3 feet from it- it is totally self absorbed, thinks whatever it does is fine because it is so important.
It stomped into my cube accusing me of leaving a crank call about keeping the noise down, as it has been asked to lower its voice several times by my manager to its manager. It told me it was going to have me me moved by speaking with my manager, and told me it likes where it sits, and will not move. Additionally, nothing can be done about its loud voice, that is just the way it is. It also stated that my group is often talking about non-work related topics.
It feels superior and entitled to yell if it wants to.
It eats like an animal, and should be in a zoo somewhere. I am fortunate enough to listen to it eat at least twice a day.
