Obama Can Only Disappoint

Ive been feeling ever since Barack Obama was elected to replace that god awful George Bush that people's expectations are so high that he can only disappoint.

I mean, think about it, he has become president at possibly the worst time you could. We are in the middle of this recession, global warming is worse than ever, our troops are all in Iraq and Afganistan and were all paranoid about Al Khaeda. Most of us expect him to solve all of our problems but one man can't. Its just not possible. And I also feel that most of the USA voted for him just because hes black, so for all those reasons, he can only disappoint. It's not that I don't like him (anyone beats Bush), or that im at all racist, it's that we expect too much. Does anyone agree with me and am I normal to think this way about Obama?
Do you think it's normal?

I think anyone with realistic expectations won't be disappointed by him. But again, Americans aren't really known for that.

Also, I voted for him because he was the best man for the job, his race had as much to do with it as his hair cut for me.
i think hes doing a great job already and after 8 years of obama everything is going to better
It's normal. The only thing we can do is wait another few months and observe the progress.
Enjoy life while you can.
"Also, I voted for him because he was the best man for the job, his race had as much to do with it as his hair cut for me."

so i wasn't the only one bothered by his haircut?
I'm pretty happy with what he's done so far. I mean, people have really made him out to lead us to the promised land etc. etc. which is unrealistic, so yeah, it can only lead to disappointment in that sense, but otherwise I think he's accomplished a number of great things (even if they don't always make headlines, like the new talks to implement tougher EPA standards in America, based on California's)
I agree if you elect somebody to be the savior of the nation as a mere mortal man they are bound to let you down sooner than later.
Obama is very much a celebrity...hard to say how soon he will if can fix things for america when he's havin dinner with snoop dog an tom cruise.....I have faith but realisticly all to much for one man to bare.... but likewise @ least dumb fuck bush is out office
he's the same but much worse cause he's black dont make one shite of a difference! Actually he will do way worse for blacks and whites around the world i think it's hilarious that race comes into this at all. He is already carrying out dubya's policies in the US and around the world wake up and smell the java!!!!!!
I'm not American, but yeah he is going to disappoint some people, those that do not understand the terrible state of the economy or the amount of work that needs to be done. Also those who voted him in with the expectation of life being easier via handouts.

However, so far so good, even he said that what needs to be done will take time.
thats very true everyone was talking about obama like if he could really perform miracles with just twitching his nose and everyone stops and notices everthing that he has to do and what he is giving to work with everyone will notice hes not that bad just dont have hopes of him making this a perfect world
I think that I saw the disappointment coming. Bush was not as bad as a lot of people said because they didn't really appreciate what happened during his first year, but Obama is about as bad as we could have asked for at a time when economy was not very good, due to the fact that his socialist/bureaucratic/communist ways will harm our country.
Of course people are optimistic. I don't really think it's possible for anyone else to screw up even half as bad as Bush did. Germans want to hang him for war crimes you know.
