pain medication and weed
49% Normal

I have a pinched nerve in my back and my doctor prescribed percoset for the pain. I told him in my initial appt. that I smoked weed. That was about 4 years ago. He now tells me he can no longer prescribe percoset because I smoke weed, but knew all along that I had been. Is this normal? I'm still in extreme disconfort. HELP!!!!!
Do you think it's normal?

it seems like there is something missing from this story.

you are probably addicted to perc at this point. I took perc once for a week due to an injury and man, that stuff makes you feel really really good. I cant imagine being on it for 4 years and not being addicted to it.
He's looking for an excuse to withhold valuable medication from you. The painkiller hoarding war has begun...
i think percoset is the same thing as lortabs and vicoden, when the doctor prescribed it to me a few months ago it was my first time taking it and it made me feel really good, now i'm almost out of my 40 tabs and i've taken one a day, now i need to buy them from a drugdealer because i'm too addicted

Most drugs have a downside, psychologically. like pot can make you paranoid, alcohol can make you sad, LSD can make you psychotic, etc.

but painkillers almost always make you feel really good. that's why you have to be really careful with em.

but don't bother with a drug dealer. just do what this poster has done, i.e. go to a doctor for a "pinched nerve" for the next 4 years.
you should ask your doctor to give you a shot of a muscle relaxer. i had muscle problems too and a few days i was fine

i think the doctor will see through it because i'm a bad liar, and i'd feel really dumb if he was like "no, you just want to get high, get out of here"
i just read that percocet is actually oxycontin with a tylenol, so i have only taken that once

i'm used to lortabs and i know oxycontin is a lot stronger, i want to try some of that stuff

it's all opiates which is what heroin is, i think the potency goes like this

vicodin < oxycontin < heroine < morphine

just wash the makeup off your face and cut your hair (in other words don't look like an emo doosh-bag) before you go to the doctor.

and tell the doctor your a stock broker. then you'll have no problem. You're all set to be drug addict for life.
@: P00LTOY
i might try that

you know flikr, after a while those things don't add much to your life.
never tell them you smoke weed; they think it's drug abuse. Shut the fuck up and take the perc.
listen bro screw percoset...in fact screw all opiate pain killers, their far too addictive and cause more harm than good. right now your best tonic might be some nor cal chronic. Seriously weed is way less addictive and has no harmful side affects...plus its fun as hell!
I have osteo-arthritis in my spine and legs, and the pain can be incredible; the doctor gives me painkillers but to be honest, weed helps far more than his stuff does with fewer side effects. If I were you I'd keep on toking and go see an acupuncturist - a friend of mine had a trapped nerve in his back and the physio couldn't shift it in 6 months, but acupuncture relaxed him enough to get rid of it in three weeks.
