ok so i just graduated from a college prep school and im going to college. now heres the problem. i just threw a party at my house that got busted by the cops,(parents gone) and now my dad is so upset that he refuses to pay for college. he wants me to find a job and an apartment because at the end of the month, i am no longer welcome home. is this even morally right?
Do you think it's normal?

wow! you just graduated from prep school and your father has the audacity to do that to you? He seems like an asshole. He probably did much worse things when he was your age. I think if you do good in school you should be able to party all you want. I would be proud of you. Most kids dont even do prep courses after high school.
i feel the same way. thanx for the support
Yes this is normal. It happens a lot. Many people do not have what ou had and still have to pay for college. It seems to me he is trying to teach you a moral lesson.
I know that a party is a dumb reason to retract the offer of a free ride to college, but you will get more out of an education that you pay for. Yes, it will be hard to work and go to school, but you will not be the only one in the history of the world to have done so. This also leaves you the opportunity to take some time for yourself- thirteen years of continuous school can be draining on even the most academic person.
Take some time to work, travel, take up a job you think would be fun, but you can't see yourself doing forever. And find what you really want out of life and follow that path. Your father not paying for school might be the best thing that has happened to you. Take a step back and see this as an opportunity instead of a dead-end punishment.
