My sister is turning 15 next month. She got her first period about 2-3 years ago, and it's still not on track. She will go months and months without a period. She has no schedule either. They used to hurt her but now she doesn't even feel them coming. Is it normal that she doesn't have a cycle by now?

Well, she's still growing up and her body is still changing so just let her body do what it needs to do. We're all different. Our bodies are all different.

Or maybe she's an X-man.

It's true that they don't always have a proper cycle. It's not like your body has a timer, it just happens when it feels the need to. If it is too unpredictable and gets annoying, contraceptive pills are helpful in keeping it in a 28day cycle.

It's normal. I'm the same way. It doesn't have to have a regular schedule.

First of all, she is still only 15 and going through puberty. Her body won't settle down until she is at least 18.
Secondly, it is not uncommon for some women to never have regular periods. Some women go through a life time without knowing when their next period will come.
If she is worried, it will do no harm having a talk with a doctor but right now, I don't see it as much as a problem. I would wait another couple of years and if the problem still persists then it may be time to go for a check up.

It's... normal. I don't know about your sister but doctors were unconcerned with my irregularity due to my physical activity (riding horses, teaching swim classes, and I did vaulting for a while).
