Some guys are really into doing it, some girls are really into having it done to them. I don't think it's any less safe than normal oral sex, but I don't know for sure. If two people are into it that it's fair game, go crazy.

I've done it and it's not a big deal. A lot of guys are really turned off by periods, though, so I wouldn't advise to you try to "convert" anyone, you know? Once he knows your cycle you'll find out quickly what he's OK with.
