AUGH, I can't stand throwing up or listening to it. However uncomfortable it is, however, if you're changing your lifestyle to prevent yourself from doing it, it's a little unhealthy.

Imm not sure if you are as bad to the point of emetephobe like kiwi said, but i also used to have a very bad fear of vommeting because when i did i would tend to choke on it and had hard problems heaving it out. and having a stomach sensitivity when i was younger made me hate puking even more. But like anything else to rid a fear you must face it. I smoke allot of pot and it usually clears out any nasea i have. but when i started shrooms about 6 months ago everytime after the trip ended or got close to the 5 hour 6 hour point i would always vommit and since i was still mildly trippin it was hard to overcome. but really the best advice i could give you is to find an easy way to puke. I found doing a hard Blast cough between heaves will make ur puke session about 35 seconds rather than like 5-6 minits. From partying and Shrooms iv really learned how to enjoy a vomit every know and then.

Hi there- i am another emetophobe- never knew any1 else had this until a few years ago. It really has affected my life in a big way. I have always avoided eating before many events, occasions, traveling etc to avoid vomiting. I really suggest you get some specialised psychological help for this as it can just keep getting worse. i understand the fear of anything that can possibly give you food poisoning too. I often agonize about that. I have a daughter and when she was younger and would get sick i would be in quite a state. Please get some help so you can get on with your life and not have to be worrying all the time!

Phobia of vomit is called Emetophobia. It could be afraid of you yourself vomiting, seeing another vomiting, or hearing/smelling/touching vomit. Hardly anyone LIKES it, but its the irrational part of the fear that makes it Emetophobia. If someone says they're going to be sick do you...
a) rub their back and help them get to a bathroom
b) walk away... far away
c) wash your hands (get as far away as possible)
d) panic attack (get as far away as possible)

With me, I've been Emetophobic my entire life. When I was a kid I had constant tummy aches in the night. And remember getting sick as the worst possible thing that could happen to you. Mommy holds your hair in the middle of the night. I remember little parts of every time I got sick. Once when I was 6 I slept the opposite way in my bed. When I was 8, I ate some raw cookie dough when my sister's friend was over and was sprawled out across the piano bench complaining. I remember my sister saying "I don't feel 100% good either." And of course when I was 12, I was in Marthas Vineyard and had felt fine.. sticking my head out the window of the car feeling the late night breeze. Later that night I threw up. I remember all these little details of my worst experiences ever. Taking out the screen of my window and heading out onto the ROOF when my sister threw up. It's gotten worse over the years because I haven't gotten sick in a while so I feel like a time bomb. When will it happen next' What will I do TODAY that I'll remember TOMORROW after I've gotten sick'
I've had vomiting nightmares that are the most disturbing things I've ever thought about. I plug my ears and close my eyes and hold my breath when Zero throws up in the movie Holes. If you're like me and can't stand the sound of it, the look of it, the smell of it, or the idea of it... take my advice.
You can't exactly rid of the phobia. But you can help make it a bit easier for you. It starts simple. Laugh around about it. Imitate the sound of vomiting. blehh. Keep doing that. Do that while you look at something really gross... like a food. It's almost like handling a dog who is afraid of thunder... play a CD with thunder on it in the house on low to get the dog used to it. I'm not saying join a Pro Mia club but your mind just needs to adapt to the simplicity of the body's way to rid of germs. Watch some movies with vomiting in them. And imagine how the actors prepared for it. Of course it's fake vomit and it probably is just some kind of melted candy. The actors were probably laughing and having a good time. Why can't it be that way when you watch the film' I can't really help you if YOU'RE sick. That's just a part of life. But I'd say break the habit of linking the depressing scary part of it by turning on lights, looking at a magazine... feed your mind with flashing it with a different culture that doesn't agree with your phobia. Good luck.

Oh my god, I thought I was the only one.

I know it sounds super weird, but I don't eat certain things because of it. I'm very picky. I'm horrified of it. I'm trying to get over it though.
I'm a little better with not worrying about it so much than I used to be ( :

try not to worry to much, excessive vomiting can tear the lining of the esophagus, which is fatal but typically only happens with the very elderly if you throw up all night or something it's normal to have a sore throat after, but the esophagus will heal up in time

I hate throwing up very much. It feels absolutely horrible...

But if you are thoroughly checking your food and making lifestyle changes over this fear, then that is not normal, sweetie.

I used to be really afraid of vomiting too. Was the last time you threw up really bad' Because most times it's not that bad. I actually got over my fear the next time I threw up because it wasn't near as bad as the last time. You gotta just accept it, it's inevitable and actually good for your body. If the fear is really causing you that much stress, you can get therapy for it

Well having a fear of vomiting is like having a fear of your body growing tall. Its a natural function of the human body when the stomach gets upset or you swallow too much food at once. So even though its resulted to healthy habits like not drinking or doing drugs I mean it still effects your life and you might want to get over that fear because one of these days you will vomit and it will be out of a nervous reaction to something have you ever heard of that'

I've known quite a few people that have fears of vomiting. It is a violent function of the body, I can understand. But as the above post mentions, it's normal and can save your life by expelling harmful toxins. Face your fear and induce vomiting on yourself with a trusted person with you. You can't live your life in fear of anything or your not really living.

 Yeah thats odd.
Vomitting is a normal thing that your body does. It should not be a scary event because its harmless(in most cases) and temporary.
