I've been able to do it since I was about 12, I'm 15 now, but I haven't done it in a while (which it is now very hard to do, I have to get back into the swing of things again) and I kind of have a gut so it's not impossible to do as long as you stretch and whatnot, I'm only 6.5 inches, and I wouldn't exactly consider myself flexible either, and yea, it is normal.
