If we are thinking in a logical way, it's easy to see that those parts of countries were never meant to support human life. Early humans wouldn't settle somewhere with no fresh water, land that cannot be cultivated and intense heat and overall poor living conditions.
It is terrible, awful that humans have to suffer in this way. All people deserve the chance to live a good, healthy life, unfortunately that isn't how our world works.
I study environmental issues at school and the only solution that would solve all of our world problems is to decrease the population of the earth. There are simply too many of us for the earth to sustain us. Of course there is absolutely no way of doing this, it would be unreasonable and unethical.
So in short, helping these people, giving them care and hand outs is having a negative effect on our planet. However there really isn't anything that can be done about it. All people have equal rights to have a chance at life.
heres a thought on controlling the worlds population. birth control. yea yea i know here most people have access to free condoms and free birthcontrol if they know where to go, but does everyone else? i can almost guarantee you if everybody had birth control we wouldnt be so over populated, therefore this person wouldnt have to hope underprivledged people die for the sake of the environment.
The complementing side to this argument would be that women unfortunately would have to give birth naturally. Western medicine and procedures such as C-sections has made sure of too high a live birth rate. Excuse my bluntness, but women and kids who are not fit enough to survive childbirth are not dying --> overpopulation. Food and crops however, these could be managed so that a longer lifespan shouldn't be a problem. I'd think that longer lifespans with less people on the planet is better than overpopulation with longer lifespans and unsustainable agricultural growth.
The trouble is, there are a high amount of catholics in africa, which doesn't allow birth control. This would not work in Africa at the moment. Why do you think aids is such a problem?
