Sometimes I wish I were the opposite sex

Sometimes, more frequently now, I wish I were of the opposite sex. I'm definitely not some kind of creep or anything. Just a normal person, but in my head, when I'm alone, I like to picture what it would be like. Sure girls have their downsides, but they seem to have it a lot easier. They seem more appealing to guys than guys to girls. The guy usually does the brunt of the work in a relationship (no offence, just an observation) They seem to be better off socially and seem to have more fun in bed *ahem*... I just thing it would be a good experience to be able to be a woman at certain times. Not forever, and not for any amount of time, but just to be able to be like that.
Do you think it's normal?

i feel the same. i am a guy, i think girls rule.
for 1 thing, they get breasts, and another thing, they are sexy.
and also, a girls can "have fun" without porn or anything like that.
so... i would rather be a girl. also, girls can get away with things that men cant. and girls get a more fun part in sex
Im as straight as an arrow and I've had this thought as well.

A guy could be an 8/10 in looks, and a girl could be an 8/10 in looks and she would be far more succsessful in meeting boyfriends.

There's just something about girls that help them hook easier. But yes, its normal mate.
can get a female identity on the net
...This is such a "grass is always greener on the other side" scenario, it's almost funny. When have you ever witnessed two Men completely degrade themselves over a woman who is "substandard" in the looks and scraping the bottom of the barrel in personality? Flip the script on this question, and you'll see that it's MEN who truly hold the advantage.
I, myself, have thought about having a penis. How it would be to have sex with a girl, how it would feel to jack off, how it would feel to piss and aim like a lifelong game. I used to think girls had it bad, what with the whole pregnancy thing, the whole period thing, and the whole self-consciousness with their weight thing, but I agree with you now. Guys are obsessed with fitting in with other guys, right? If not that, then having sex? There are too many girls that are shallow, so yes, it is normal to think like that.
It seems like a lot of men these days think they want to be women. Maybe your just born that way, or maybe , because pop culture obsesses over women's bodies, you want the kind of attention that (you think) women get. You think its easier being a woman? How the hell would you know? Also, from what I can see in the media, women are being encouraged to do every single damn thing in the relationship and men are being encouraged to act like pathetic lumps/babies. Do you think women enjoy playing mommy to grown up men? The thought of it makes me sick.
Also- maybe on tv/porn it appears as if women have a better time at sex- but consider the fact that - unless there is some sort of problem- men orgasm every single time they have sex. Lots and lots of women cannot orgasm from penetration- some can't even orgasm no matter what you do.
Try to understand that you might want to be a woman- but what you think a woman is a cultural fabrication.

Yes, it is normal. While they both have their upsides and downsides, being a woman is just more simplistic. I know on many of occasions where women get the upper hand, just because they are women. For example, attractive females male teachers. While it may not be true in every case, women definitely have power over men. Men seem like they have the power, but when examined further a women who is a good social engineer can con almost anyone out of anything.
It's totally normal!

I'm a straight, happy girl and sometimes I wish I was a guy, because I feel like I know what people want out of them, and how to make one popular. Sometimes I even feel like if I were a guy, I'd have more confidence.
I just want to be a girl when I'm in the shower. My water and gas bill would be through the roof
So sexist about the realatshionship thing. Guys do all the work!? Screw that. I am a girl, not so easy. We have to work hard every day to seem remotley appealing to guys, it's even harder for the flat chested and small assed girls! But thats beside the point. This is normal, I have friends who feel this way. some say they'd like to walk a mile in shies of the opposite sex. It can be annoying but it's completley normal.
i don't think girls have more fun in bed =S
we don't even necessarily get to the finish line every time.

but yeah, it's normal to wonder
I wish I was a girl so I could go on spring break and be a whore. Give all the guys there what they are looking for.
I sometimes wish I were a dude. Ideally instead of falling to the Communists once a month I'd turn into a guy. But that's mainly because I have penis envy.

Anyway, this sounds like a case of "the grass is greener" syndrome.

From my perspective, there's still a lot of institutionalized sexism against women.

If you have an open-minded girlfriend you can always try out genderplay, which is tons of fun.
OK to imagine & appreciate what the other side of gender divide may be like - but to pretend life is less difficult means: 1) you are avoiding your own problems; 2) you have little idea of the issues women, on the whole, face.

So I agree this is a "grass is greener" thing for you.
For a week i would love to see what it is like and im sure all of you would agree. I think women get better orgasms when they achive them so yeah. I guess it would be interesting to feel what a women can feel for 15 seconds or even longer. WEE... I much more be myself tho.
I laughed hard at a lot of comments on this, mainly because of the rampant craziness of who has it better. The genders have their perceived strengths and weaknesses and they're LARGELY based on how we view them, the stereotype of what makes a man or a woman, and media.

My husband and I talk a lot about gender and how our genders act. I personally love being a woman but some days I would love to be a man. Aside from the simple sexual curiosity (not to mention getting to piss standing up without making a damn mess) it's the power. In the group of male friends I have I am generally the joke. I know why. I'm an easy target. I'm asthmatic, a girl, the smallest of the bunch, and in general not very quick on the draw with a comeback. So sometimes I wish I was a guy because I think it would make it easier to be one of the guys lol. I feel that if that whole "I'm a woman" thing wasn't in the way I could get to know them better too. But aside from that I always thought it would be cool to see the difference in attitude towards me if I were a man instead.

A big sticking point with both myself and my husband is misogyny and misandry. The hatred of women and the hatred of men. As much as feminism has been regaled and trumpeted not many people think of the way men are treated. Guys can't get away with anything lol. I mean really. All a girl has to do is point and lie to ruin a reputation. If a guy were to point at a girl and say "she raped me" people would probably laugh. Meanwhile if the roles were reversed it would be a serious matter. I've seen it done first hand. It's a TERRIBLE misuse of the legal system, judicial system, and even the basic social system we rely on.
Same here! ...
I would love to sex like a woman. It is one of my biggest fantasies
that is normal i wish i was the oposite sex somtimes and i told my mom and dad about it to
I'm a guy, and sometimes wish I could be a woman for a couple days. I'm perfectly fine with being a guy, and don't think I'm a creep or anything, but if I were a woman for a week I'd be such a slut. I'd also think that it'd be cool to play with myself. Haha no I'm not a freak really and I don't think about this often. I just think that if I could change bodies for a week, I could have some real fun.
Wow,I was just having this kinda wish, so googled it to find out if there are others like me.
Yes, it's normal, I talked of it to my parents and they say it's quite common during teenage when guys are fashion-obsessed or too much after glam. And surely, deny it or not, feminine glam is something more beautiful for the eye to behold even for guys,so, this makes the wish strong sometimes.
Seems like glam or sexual thoughts are affecting youths in a sort of negative way.
i think I was born in the wrong body! I hate being a guy
Honestly, I do find being a girl more enjoyable. Contrary to popular belief, there's more societal freedom in being a girl- for example, a chick who plays video games and fixes cars is sexy, and a guy who does ballet and obsesses over his hair is exceedingly gay... hello double-standard?! But I've got to admit, it is nice being able to flutter your eyelashes and get out of anything, or to play helpless and have a bunch of hormonal zombies fall at your feet... it's empowering. Really, I can't say I blame you.
each have their pros and cons :)
I hate to be a guy even though I happen to be cis-gendered and straight as arrow.
I think girls rule the world, and very soon if not instantly,as more women get full freedom to live like men, more and more males are going to realize that. It's bcoz women of elite class can enjoy and even allowed to femininity as well as masculinity while males have to stick to only masculinity, else they are ridiculed....
I guess part of my frustration will go away if males stop flirting and making love with females too often- it makes me feel, girls always are too much loved and pampered, while boys have to be too much like a guardian with no emotions.
id have to be a lesbian tho ha
@: cruiser
not that us girlys don't like porn.... :)
there's pros and cons to being one or the other.
sometimes it might really be better to be the opposite sex, but you know, someday, you'll be glad you're a guy...
....giving birth.....periods.......hair........unable to play cool sports like rugby....... there are plenty of donwsides to being female ya know ...
Just imagine getting a 7 pound soft watermelon out of your belly through a channel that is usually just about 2 inches wide, and you will not want to change sex anymore, but will feel a lot fortunate to be a male.
When I was a kid, I'd fantasize about being a girl and playing with my boobs and such. That went away soon enough, but even today I sometimes like fantasizing what it would be like if I was the girl, if I was giving the blowjob or taking it up the vagina or ass.
