when i download stuff like MP3s, avi's,mpegs etc.. i get really addicted 2 watching thing like the speed KB per second, how many users are sharing, time left in KBs, remaing timer in KB s etc & watch it go up & down like its the stock market! pls tell me is this normal or am i just an anorak

I used to do this when I had dialup and was using Napster back in the day. I'd have waited half an hour for a song only to have the jerk cancel my download in final 10 seconds. So I used to watch the bar like a hawk.

I even defrag my hard drive to watch the little lines move around. It was better when they had the little squares in earlier versions of windows. I hope the stock market doesn't follow remaining time. You might want to choose some new stocks.

I do this sometimes, but not all the time. If I am downloading something of interest I will look at the progress every minute of so to watch the progress. But I'm not addicted to watching the progress.

I usually use Soulseek (if there's something you can't find anywhere else...) and I totally sit there and get distracted analyzing all the numbers. Then I come back and do it again 10 minutes later.

I waste a ton of time.

Just make sure you pay attention to sound quality KBPS ;)

sometimes i get a hard on when something im downloading hits 360KBps which im sure is NOT normal
