Taking too long for wrist to heal.

I sprain my wrist about 2 and a half months ago. during the first few weeks, i went to the doctor, he said it would heal in about 2 weeks. its been about 6 weeks already, but my wrist still hurt when i try to do pull ups. i've tried the RICE method for a few weeks, it end up hurting. anybody know any better method to fix this ?
Do you think it's normal?

It may have healed but it will take a good 12 months to get back the way it was
damn. well, thanks for the information.
Yeah you cant just hit the pull up bar like that. Thats a bad injury and you are going to have to put tape on it and work out around it until its fully healed. When fighters hurt their hands or wrist they can be out for over a year because of it.
Sprains can take ages to heal. I did my ankle and it took about 6 weeks. Probably best just to rest it til it's 100%%, otherwise you can make it worse (like I did).
ya just go back to the doctorr or sue!
thanks for the comments.
you can't sue for breaking your own wrist... moron.... but it will be healed enought to take the cast off... but not to do pullups or pushups or lift heavy things... but if you have an ofice job or school .. you are SOL... you now have to start writing again!
