Teenage son suddenly showing signs of dyslexia?

My son just recently turned 15 about two weeks ago and he has always been an average student in school.

He would get mostly B's a few A's and 1 C (usually in math)
He's always been a great writer!

But recently he's been writing a little strange and is stressing out over it. It's nothing to major but its big enough to affect him in school and concern me.

He was writing an essay on a book he read and here is a random sentence I picked out of it :

"Wen he was at the atack he din't realise that it affected him so he left it bottle inside."

None of that sentence has a typo in it sadly.

He has never even shown the slightest sign of dyslexia, in fact the his teachers think hes pretty smart.

My great grandmother had dyslexia but no one else has had it.

So my questions are :

Is it normal to randomly show multiple signs of dyslexia like this?

And do you think its possible to have dyslexia for that long and only
start showing signs of it at 15?!

I'm taking him to his school then maybe a doctor to get him tested for it. I'm not exactly sure where i should take him for it but ill do some research

Thanks for your opinion and help!

Don't quote me on this but I think there is a form of aphasia which can effect a person's literacy skill. I doubt it has taken so long for his dyslexia to become apparent as it seems he was doing pretty well in school up until now. I would take him straight to the doctors.

I agree with the above.
Unfortunately, I believe this could be a symptom of something worse, such as brain damage (has he had an undiagnosed concussion?) or a tumor.
Although before I scare you to death, take him to a real neurologist (which I am not), and hopefully they'll give him an MRI or at least a CAT scan.
God bless!

No.. That doesn't sound normal. The dyslexia cases I've heard were all over a course of time. I don't think he has it, he may have a issue with his brain. Does he have other symptoms or was he in a accident? He could have brain damage or worse! I'm not trying to scare you, but you need to get him to a specialist ASAP!

Unless you made the typo I can see 2 and theyre not that bad. He left the t out of attack and the d of the end of bottle which I preume was meant to be bottled. Id say its not anything but maybe writing too quickly and may be a result of too much texting which is making him fall into bad spelling habitss

......the h out of When and the d out of didn't. Also the sentence doesn't make any sense even with the spellings corrected.

Nope. His spelling is just getting terrible from all the texting.
