well everyone i know does it but its SOOO anoying go to the beach and go swimming but leave your phone on shore and then youll understand your addiction... to break it get a prepaid phone and only use that 4 two months

No it is not normal. The hours that you spend texting could be wrapped up in a 10 to 15 minute conversation.
